Similar to the protest I attended in Bethlehem two days earlier, it was a much bigger crowd that I was expecting (for little ol’ Nazareth). It was 30ºC (86ºF) and sunny. Prior to marching, the organisers said that there will be no tolerance for disrespecting police and/or rioting.

As the crowd walked north up Main Street they chanted phrases such as “No Justice; No Peace!”, “Say his name: George Floyd”, “Say her name: Breonna Taylor”, and “Black Lives Matter!”. Once they all made it up to the Circle, a few words were said followed by everyone laying face-down on the ground for 9 minutes (the length of time George Floyd had a knee on his neck; killing him). People told me it wasn’t comfortable, but it was comparatively a dreamy position to be in compared to what George Floyd (and others) went through.

I floated around the Circle with my cameras. As I expressed on my photos of the Bethlehem protest, I think many of us do have privileges and I will do my best to use mine to lift those in oppression. Photography and video are one way I know how to do that.

Most people were wearing masks due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. In general, that makes me frustrated because I don't recognise anybody and not seeing someone's mouth (or someone seeing mine) inhibits the emotion they're expressing. I can be smiling ear-to-ear with sunglasses on and the person I'm looking at has a seemingly stern and dismissive appearance on their face. I can't wait for the masks to be done with.

I’ve been waiting for the perfect golden hour light in combination with the ideal wind conditions to capture a fall vista. This one was captured from above our property with my quadcopter facing south.

In the distance, directly center, you can see the Helderberg Escarpment within the John Boyd Thacher State Park. To the left, which you really can't see in this photo, is the city of Albany. The full resolution version of this image shows Albany a little sharper. If you scan all the way to the right you can spot the northern peaks of the Catskill Mountains including Windham and Hunter Mountain.

Mind you that our house sits at about 1100 feet above sea level, so for the region our elevation contributes to the distance I can capture.

Additionally, a really powerful and much appreciated feature of my stabilized mounted camera is the ability to simultaneously record HD video and take 12 mp photos.

While I greatly appreciate my current rig I’m looking forward to building a new multirotor this winter that will allow me to mount a full size DSLR like a Canon 5D to the platform, More to come!
