It gives me great pleasure to be able to indulge into such an outstandingly important matter as saving the Arctic. Our world offers such beautiful and diverse natural wonders, along with irreplaceable creatures that with our help, may continue to flourish on our planet. I have started an environment committee at my high school because the world’s health has always been of utmost importance to me. The flag I have created represents the unity of people, animals and the environment and how we are all here to support each other. Images of Arctic animals are posed to the left, all strongly bonded together with a snowy white and blue colour scheme. In the middle of the flag, a woman is reaching out to support the animals’ preservation in the Arctic. She is wearing a navy blue cape making up the shining night sky. To the right, her friends stand behind her supporting this very important initiative. The shimmering moonlight pours onto the picture to symbolize hope, peace and global community. Only together can we maintain the treasures of the Arctic and I would love to highlight this for Greenpeace and WAGGGS, represented in a proud flag.

Art has always been a huge part of my life. As a kid I knew I was good at drawing and painting, but when I came to college I wanted to expand my horizons. Glass blowing has been a huge, life changing experience for me and I definitely think that I have found my favorite art medium.
