I've been trying to do sketches of my kids in my journal. I've had a hard time motivating myself to write often, but now I really look forward to it.
These are drawn loosely and quickly, I try not to spend much time on them so, some of them do look a little rough. Also, they've gotten a little more refined and the character styles a little more consistent.
This is what a whole page looks like.
And, yes, I stole this idea from Chris Ware as noted in Danny Gregory's 'An Illustrated Life'.

I took several of these serious models with non-model people walking by. Then I decided that the emptiness of the walkway said most of what I wanted--even though there is a couple coming out of the vanishing point. I can't say I don't like the world of fashion and exorbitant beauty, even though I know that the forlorn pseudo-dismay of these models is best described by emptiness. It is vanity: theirs and mine. Maybe I just like sparkly things, maybe I have a part that is still hooked by the dream of it all. One thing for sure is that this kind of beauty really does stop at the skin. As long as I remember that, it is pretty fun to see what they (the designers) come up with. In reality they tell very similar stories over and over again and people (me too!) lap them up with the fervor of soap-opera addicted not-s0-busy-bodies. How many ways can we see LV or Gucci stirrups? How many ways can a dead head hear Sugar Magnolia. We seem to be joiners, we human, want to belong. We find distinction in our areas of similarity. "I am different from you" because I have this hand bag (that one million other people have) or this camera or because I get this music that only one million other people get, but not you.
Also, this store is part of a really amazing piece of architecture in Vegas. All the stores are as expensive as possible, of course. The lines of it look like the architect attached a pencil to a slinky and made a building out of a play session.
The last time I read this was semi-drunk and tired on a Eurostar.. so wasn't paying much attention.
This book NEEDS attention.

Style does not matter, when you have to score. Jarkko Immonen scored the first goal in the game between Finland and Switzerland.
I saw these two entangled in the shadows last summer. Their bodies were as malleable as I would imagine love to be.
I’ve been waiting for the perfect golden hour light in combination with the ideal wind conditions to capture a fall vista. This one was captured from above our property with my quadcopter facing south.
In the distance, directly center, you can see the Helderberg Escarpment within the John Boyd Thacher State Park. To the left, which you really can't see in this photo, is the city of Albany. The full resolution version of this image shows Albany a little sharper. If you scan all the way to the right you can spot the northern peaks of the Catskill Mountains including Windham and Hunter Mountain.
Mind you that our house sits at about 1100 feet above sea level, so for the region our elevation contributes to the distance I can capture.
Additionally, a really powerful and much appreciated feature of my stabilized mounted camera is the ability to simultaneously record HD video and take 12 mp photos.
While I greatly appreciate my current rig I’m looking forward to building a new multirotor this winter that will allow me to mount a full size DSLR like a Canon 5D to the platform, More to come!
