For Five Years I have thought that I did not have any Images Of Harrods Department store Within My Neglected Images Of London... I had in error thought that Harrods was located across the street from Parliament or Right In The Middle Of Piccalilli... so I could not spot the Store in any of the neglected Images... So how surprised that My Infamous Photo Acumen Actually did document the existence of Harrods five years ago (maybe it has been since gone out of business or made into a warehouse or a loft apartment complex)... But, whatever it is today, Harrods (I Think) had the World famous reputation of being the World's Greatest "Everything 99 (US) Cents Store and Refurbished Goods Discount Outlet." I understand that they later raised the Everything Price to $2.50 (US Dollars) but that might have been affordable for Mysterious Market Goods... Harrods had (I may be wrong on this) 16 World Class Michelin Rated 10 Star Gourmet Restaurants on Site that Offered Nothing On The Menu Except for Andy Capp Fries Bagged Potato Snacks... Had I eaten there, I would have enjoyed that Menu! (My Apologies to All, Especially Harrods If There Is any sort of silly misinformation in this bogus caption)

The apartment has been a disaster since I came back from my camping trip over the long weekend. I meant to tidy up on Thursday and then again on Saturday, but I ended up at folk fest (as evidenced by the photos posted below). It only took four episodes of Sex and the City, but this afternoon I put away all of my camping gear, did laundry, watered the plants, swept the floor, organized my overflowing closet and put away my camera equipment. Now all that is left is to unload the dishwasher. So why the photo? Umm, I don't really like to clean up the house. I like to congratulate myself for accomplishing these little tasks. I need a visual reminder that tidying up is not all that bad. I have no Mary Poppins to make cleaning up fun.
In other news, if I had the money I'd reupholster my couch. I've never been happy with it. I think it's too drab. It would probably be easier to just buy a new one, but money does not grow on trees. I'm happy just to have something to sit on.

Bush Stadium, opened in 1931, had been the host of games in several leagues and hosted several event. It was home to teams in the American Association, International League, Pacific Coast League and the Negro American League in baseball, and a team in the Continental Football League. Its last usage was as a dirt track for auto racing in the late 1990s after the Indianapolis Indians vacated the facility in 1996.
It was known as Perry Stadium when built, later being renamed Victory Field in 1942, and finally renamed Bush Stadium in 1967. It has hosted baseball for the Pan American Games and the National Sports Festival. It even served as a filming location for the movie Eight Men Out.
Many future Major League Baseball stars came through these gates to play baseball during its 60+ years span. Though not as historic as Yankee Stadium or venerated Wrigley Field or Fenway Park, it is still a interesting decaying part of baseball history, and certainly minor league baseball history. Now in 2011, grass, weeds, rust, broken bricks and concrete overwhelm Bush Stadium.
As for the future, Bush Stadium will be turned into into a 136 loft apartment complex called Stadium Lofts. The project also includes several thousand square feet of retail and office space. Construction begins March 2012. Soon, it will be partially knocked down with only its shell remaining.
So my mother asked be to buy her a couple of cute Christmas stockings. I got these two the other day when buying the tree and I really like them! Which is a problem.
....does she get dibs on the cutest ones (these), or on the first ones I bought which were going to be for her anyways (but are not as cute)?

1000 Houston - 1907 (NR, RTHL, FWHSE)
This structure, one of the signature buildings of Fort Worth, was designed by Sanguinet & Staats. It was modeled after the Flatiron Building in New York (1902). Our Flatiron Building was one of the first steel framed buildings in Fort Worth and was one of the tallest commercial buildings in North Texas in the early 1900's. Originally designed with 10 stories, three floors were cut from the building due to budgetary constraints. The following is an ironic situation. The man that Fort Worth is named after is buried on a small island of land at the intersection of Broadway and Fifth Avenue at the base of the Flatiron Building in New York City. William Jenkins Worth died shortly before Fort Worth was founded.
The building is owned by Dr. George Cravens and his wife and they are working on a $4 million restoration/renovation of the structure. The first phase is their own loft apartment located on the top two floors. On the ground floor, plans call for a bistro or cafe. The remaining floors will have luxury loft apartments. Recently the Park Central Hotel, immediately to the south, was purchased by Dr. Cravens and his wife. They plan to remodel the hotel. The Cravens' recently donated a panther sculpture that was placed in the adjacent Hyde Park. The architect for the restoration is Raymond O'Connor and the contractor is Scott Dennett Construction.

I always loved that Tom Hanks' film Big. And he really got screwed around by the Zultan -- I guess that should teach us all a lesson about being careful about what we ask for. Anyway, in the final scenes, Hanks finds the Zoltar machine and everything gets put back the way it should be. Except his girlfriend ends up having to wait for years for Tom to grow up. And I always wonder how well Hanks would end up adjusting back to his life as a 13-year-old boy after having lived a dream life as a toy company executive with a loft apartment in New York. I guess they never made the sequel to Big because all the plot lines are depressing.
