I shot with the band Author a few days ago. It was about -5 and we took a bunch of photos outside before conceding to the weather and moving into Eric's (far left) really neat loft apartment in St. Paul. Anyway, you should give them a listen, they have a great sound.
It's been great to be able to shoot some promos this winter, even in the extreme cold. Every time I do I realize how much more I need to work on non-live stuff. Hopefully this year I'll be able to work with more models and bands to make some of the things I picture in my head come to life.
No injuries, and apparently this set off no alarms in the building.

I shot this one in the loft apartment I stayed in while I was visiting in November 2005.
The best week of my life, perfect in every way.

A vacant building with a ghost sign for a Rooftop Bar, 3006 Harrison Avenue, Cincinnati, Ohio. This building also once held Sontag Cleaners. The ground floor is commercial space while the upper two floors are a loft apartment. The building is vacant and for sale as of December 2024.
For Five Years I have thought that I did not have any Images Of Harrods Department store Within My Neglected Images Of London... I had in error thought that Harrods was located across the street from Parliament or Right In The Middle Of Piccalilli... so I could not spot the Store in any of the neglected Images... So how surprised that My Infamous Photo Acumen Actually did document the existence of Harrods five years ago (maybe it has been since gone out of business or made into a warehouse or a loft apartment complex)... But, whatever it is today, Harrods (I Think) had the World famous reputation of being the World's Greatest "Everything 99 (US) Cents Store and Refurbished Goods Discount Outlet." I understand that they later raised the Everything Price to $2.50 (US Dollars) but that might have been affordable for Mysterious Market Goods... Harrods had (I may be wrong on this) 16 World Class Michelin Rated 10 Star Gourmet Restaurants on Site that Offered Nothing On The Menu Except for Andy Capp Fries Bagged Potato Snacks... Had I eaten there, I would have enjoyed that Menu! (My Apologies to All, Especially Harrods If There Is any sort of silly misinformation in this bogus caption)

When Jenny Flores (aka J-Flo) was young, she always dreamed of becoming an independent florist. So when a swanky, mixed-use building became available, she moved in and set up shop.
This building conforms to the Cafe-Corner standard.

They're pretty terrible for energy conservation, but there's something about this kind of window that I love. Somehow it makes me nostalgic for something I don't remember having to begin with. Weird. via 500px ift.tt/2AGV5PT
A loft apartment above a barn overlooks the farmhouse and land, abandoned in Pennsylvania. I wanted to convey a lurker feel.
My old cast iron loft apartment I shared with a fantastic artist/painter Adam Smith. They were days I truly consider timeless, even as the neighborhood changed. We had the top floor loft on the 5th floor with roof access. A rarity now-a-days.

Crowds of violent people are never a welcome sight.
But when those individuals are bloody, burnt, diseased and have a craving to chow down on your digestive system, it tends to increase the anxiety factor.
Even with my new found weapon, there were too many to fight. I fired off one round at the elderly lady who stumbled thru the door as i backed up to the stairs, hitting her dead center. I cleared the first 5 steps in one leap and ran up to the top floor again. The sun was playing hide-and-seek thru the clouds, but i couldn't wait for it to be safe.
I kicked open the window in the little girls room and crawled through to the roof. The shingles were a smoking, sticky mess, and many of them had become shifting plates ... i slipped and caught myself on the window ledge.
I made my way to the edge and looked down. Two stories if i don't make it. Yeah, that's going to break something. The neighbors house was close, but it was still a good 8 ft across. I spied a roof part that was probably 4 ft lower on the other side, and made my decision. Behind me in the room, commotion and crashing informed me i had only a few seconds.
The sun grazed my jacket and i felt it begin to burn. I took a deep breath and charged. I cleared the gap, my right leg breaking thru the damaged shingles, but other than that i made it. I climbed up and began making my way across the next 4 rooftops. No point in stopping now, put as much distance as possible between me and the mob.
After what must have been 30 minutes of running and leaping across gaps...i climbed a fire escape and into a loft apartment.
My fingers were blistered from the sun , i was out of breath, and i felt faint. I stripped off my smoking jacket and boots
... laying down on a kitchen floor.
And then i blacked out.

My version of a "fisheye lens" :-))
I'm standing behind the opaque glass laundry-room door while shooting the reflection of our kitchen, looking towards the dining room and front of our loft apartment here in Curitiba, Brazil. Of course, the image is reversed.
Last weekend we had a bit of a getaway - an overnight in the loft apartment above our favorite bar. My parents watched our children and we had all the time to ourselves... hasn't happened for a long time and now I'm hooked :).

This Kingston building dates to 1913 when it housed a leather and sporting goods store. It now has an attorney's office on the first floor and, as of this article from 2012, a 3,900 sq. ft. loft apartment on the second floor.
Captured these blazing, ever-changing sunset skies from our loft apartment in Curitiba a few days ago, i.e., on March 15, 2010. Couldn't choose so decided to post this series for your enjoyment. PS Please wear eye protection :-)
Will be in Brazil until the end of April and will check in whenever I can. Thanks for visiting.
Ghost sign on the side of the Hartz Building, 1529 Broadway Street, Detroit, Michigan. The Hartz Building was formerly the J.F. Hartz Company, suppliers of medical supplies and surgical instruments for physicians, nurses, hospitals and sick rooms. Now it is home to the downtown branch of the Detroit Beer Company on the ground and second floors, loft-office space on floors three through five, and a single loft apartment on the top floor.

My best friend, Frank Gramarossa, and I shared a 3rd floor studio apartment in the rear of this building from September 1980 to July 1981. At which time, he, his partner Steve Hannan and I moved to a second floor loft apartment at 22 East 22nd Street.

WELL, OK... I'm kidding about that but I am WORKING in this building on a massive empty floor with killer light & shadows.
Mentally place yourself in this room, (remote viewing if you know how )now turn around & you would see the image SHADOWS & TALL TREES right behind you.
