After checking out the skyline, walked down through the woods, with leaves all over the ground and some paths were a bit muddy.

Scaffolding Selfridges after dark with Christmas lights.
The scaffolding has so far only gone up halfway on the Park Street side of the famous building.
Many of the discs have been removed, but now they will be able to do a proper job, take them all off, and repaint blue underneath.
Will eventually be a pink hoardings design on the outside while they replace the discs underneath.
Meanwhile the Christmas lights have gone up on Park Street and Moor Street.
Temporary bus stops for the 35 and 50 on Moor Street. I expect that side to be scaffolded as well.

The first Saturday of the 2nd lockdown. A walk down the Warwick Road in Acocks Green after a long walk down Gospel Lane.
Non essential shops, cafes, restaurants, bars and pubs are closed for 4 weeks.
Goodfella's Barber Shop - on the Warwick Road in Acocks Green Village.
I expect a pizza or take away place would have a name like this!
Places on the Stratford Road in Shirley that serve food and drink.
During the lockdown they have been open only for take away. Pubs might have been completely closed.
With Tier 3 coming, these places will remain open for take away only. No sitting indoors, unless the Government reduces the tiers for the West Midlands in mid December 2020 or later.
KFC Drive Thru - open for drive through and take away only. No sitting in.
Saw this giant picture of a chicken near the pedestrian crossing.
Usually this time of year would be the Birmingham Frankfurt Christmas Market, but not in 2020. Cancelled due to the pandemic / lockdown / social distancing etc.
So New Street to the Bullring was unusually quiet in the early evening after dark.

Perhaps they should set up a website and app so customers can buy their clothes online and get delivered to their homes. They are behind with the times.
Hardly been out on the 2nd lockdown with the return of the "Stay at Home" message. So if I walk, just the local area, and not out every day.
RIP to the late Keith Emery of Keith Emery Butchers.
Keith Emery passed away in September 2020. But his butcher shop is still open, so probably being run by his colleague now.

This morning I did some chores around the house, and after lunch drove over to Witney to spend some time with Lucas & Bethan. It's the last visit before lockdown2, so we won't be able to go into the house again for a month. Will be able to meet up in a park or public place, socially distanced, but that will be all. It was great to have cuddles and rock him to sleep when he was tired.

It will be getting a pink wrap design while it is hidden.

They seem to look good in daylight and after dark.
Been a long time since there was any Christmas lights around Birmingham Cathedral.
But no markets this year, due to the pandemic / restrictions, so something to cheer people up after a hard year.
A lunchtime walk down Smallbrook Queensway to find the latest Annatomix street art. The usual Gent 48 is still down there, he keeps coming back and repainting them.

The idea was to walk the towpath towards Yardley Wood, but the towpath was too wet and muddy.
I did go along a bit before turning back for the Solihull Lodge High Street.
Will need to try again in future.

Was heading to get onto the Stratford-on-Avon Canal.

Some things don't change: Corporation Street towards The Old Fire Station.
The view from near Old Square past the County Court, Victoria Law Courts and Central Methodist Hall.
Only the bus stops have changed, and perhaps the lampposts and signs.
The Old Fire Station is now student accommodation, but you can't see from here what they've done inside.
Not walked down that way towards Aston University in a long while now.
Mostly sticking to the Colmore BID area at lunchtime.
Leaving work and popped into Cathedral Square on the way back to the bus stop.

New Street in the morning. Quiet as the Christmas market that is usually here this time of year is cancelled due to the pandemic, but the lights have gone up.

I put the zoom lens on the camera, for a change, lots of stepping back as I am used to the 12-32 lens.

While on my last lockdown Sunday afternoon walk around Shirley, decided to head down Marshall Lake Road past the Sears Retail Park.
To get the update of what Marks & Spencer is like now.
Looks almost finished. M & S Food remains open (even during the lockdown due to food and drink for sale being essential).
The store may open sometime in 2021.
Then the old M & S in Mell Square, Solihull will close down for good.
