Sunday morning walk in the quiet parts of town.

I put the zoom lens on the camera, for a change, lots of stepping back as I am used to the 12-32 lens.

Lockdown 2 day 18

22.11.2020

About a week or more to go on this 2nd lockdown, and I popped into Grand Central Birmingham to got to Tesco Express.

The escalators and stairs near the Stephenson Street entrance was closed, so ended up going up an escalator from inside Birmingham New Street Station.

Saw the mural by Annatomix again, only the left side, but no one in front of it as Grand Central was empty, so took a new photo of it.

Frosty morning sun over The Bulls Head Hall Green.

Some of these late November mornings from the bus stop to town on the Stratford Road has been quite cold.

Days earlier was quite foggy.

This was before 8:40am.

I had to go to the Post Office to send a parcel. Nice to see the Christmas Tree up.

Lockdown 2, day 15 (half way)

Voi e-Scooter's on The Priory Queensway.

Seen near Old Square and Corporation Street, at the bus turning circle.

"in generations past, youth asked, what did you do during the war..." Well Coronavirus is this generations challenge, and we decided to be positive and turn a glorified kennel into a glorious swim spa.

I thought we were doing too well ! after working around the clock to strip, remove and re-locate furniture, decorate and seal for moisture, taking the front of the house off, shoehorning the gigantic swim spa inside, reinstating the front of the house, re-wiring and changing downlighters to IP65 safer ones, putting 32amp isolator in, blanking off or removing any electrical items that were too close.... Done all that and the swim spa HAS NOT GOT A PLUG !

But Andrew EVENTUALLY sorted that out but the damage is STILL not repaired ! The "personalising" swim jets for Janice's swimming ability and greater "massage" effects.... are PERFECT......

We have special blinds to the back windows so we can get ventilation through. And "fly screens" for the french windows [those are coincidentally by a French company] so we can have those doors open and Jan will not be buzzzed by critters ;-)

In the middle of the second lockdown.

The Christmas lights have gone up in the Great Western Arcade.

Meanwhile the North Western Arcade is closed.

No Christmas tree yet, but it will go up on Thursday 19th November 2020.

Lockdown 2 day 26, still on track to take a photo a day during this current lockdown that ends in a couple of days.

Trooping Funnelcap.

Identification – Large – fully grown caps can be easily 20cm in diameter; Strongly decurrent gills (running down the stem); Strongly funnel shaped when mature; Always a raised boss (bump) in the centre of the cap (you may have to feel for it); Inrolled margin (cap edge) on younger specimens; White spores; Pleasing sweet, floral fragrance.

Trooping (gregarious) – you will very seldom find one on its own. Similar species: clouded agaric, tawny funnel which is smaller and brown/tan coloured

Under lock and key during Lockdown2, but we shall be back when the world eventually returns to normality.

At some place formerly called GR Cafe-Bar.

First thing in the morning after 9am, had time before work to pop up to Paradise Birmingham to see the three red Christmas Baubles on Centenary Way, before going back towards the Colmore BID.

'Tis the season to enjoy

Passing through the almost empty concourse at Birmingham New Street Station from the Southside Steps towards Stephenson Street.

The former John Lewis escalators entrance has been closed since the beginning of the pandemic and now will not not reopen as John Lewis.

Various hand sanitiser stations are still out. Plus the Christmas tree and decorations has gone up.

The second lockdown will end less than a week after this visit to be replaced by another tiered system.

Christmas lights on New Street.

No Christmas market in 2020 due to the pandemic / lockdown / social distancing etc.

But the lights have quietly gone up and on to brighten things up.

Towards Victoria Square.

I don't know what kind of marker this is. It's at the edge of one part of the churchyard of St Bartholomew's Church in Binley in Coventry. It's by the side of the path that leads from the church to the kissing gate that lead into fields by Binley Road.

Hardly been out on the 2nd lockdown with the return of the "Stay at Home" message. So if I walk, just the local area, and not out every day.

Walked up the Stratford Road towards Shirley, then went down Sandy Hill Road towards Baldwins Lane in Hall Green.

Scaffolding Selfridges after dark with Christmas lights.

The scaffolding has so far only gone up halfway on the Park Street side of the famous building.

Many of the discs have been removed, but now they will be able to do a proper job, take them all off, and repaint blue underneath.

Will eventually be a pink hoardings design on the outside while they replace the discs underneath.

Meanwhile the Christmas lights have gone up on Park Street and Moor Street.

Temporary bus stops for the 35 and 50 on Moor Street. I expect that side to be scaffolded as well.

Some good news at last. Today is a good day.
