Christmas lights on Union Street.
No Christmas market this year due to the pandemic and social distancing etc.

It's not even a real tree, just lights.
Towards New Street.
Usually this time of year would be the Birmingham Frankfurt Christmas Market, but not in 2020. Cancelled due to the pandemic / lockdown / social distancing etc.
So New Street to the Bullring was unusually quiet in the early evening after dark.

Not been in here in ages. Closed as not an essential retailer (apart from Click and Collect / online orders).
A lockdown 2 walk around Beacon Hill at the Lickey Hills Country Park.
After checking out the skyline, walked down through the woods, with leaves all over the ground and some paths were a bit muddy.

Passing through the almost empty concourse at Birmingham New Street Station from the Southside Steps towards Stephenson Street.
The former John Lewis escalators entrance has been closed since the beginning of the pandemic and now will not not reopen as John Lewis.
Various hand sanitiser stations are still out. Plus the Christmas tree and decorations has gone up.
The second lockdown will end less than a week after this visit to be replaced by another tiered system.

While on my last lockdown Sunday afternoon walk around Shirley, decided to head down Marshall Lake Road past the Sears Retail Park.
To get the update of what Marks & Spencer is like now.
Looks almost finished. M & S Food remains open (even during the lockdown due to food and drink for sale being essential).
The store may open sometime in 2021.
Then the old M & S in Mell Square, Solihull will close down for good.

Mud and steps - had to find another path to avoid going in this mud.

The ex Morrisons store (Safeway before that).
There has been a proposal to demolish it and build another retirement village here. I say enough is enough. Shirley doesn't need any more unwanted retirement homes.
The town already has enough coming to completion (or already completed).

Saw some more Voi eScooter's around town.
This one spotted on Colmore Row.
Near 112 Colmore Row. But was actually outside of Henman & Cooper at 110 Colmore Row.

Saw these along the Stratford Road in Shirley Town Centre, on the last Sunday afternoon of the 2nd lockdown, before we go into Tier 3.
Non essential shops will reopen.
But pubs and restaurants will remain closed, apart from take away only (including cafes and coffee shops).
It will hit hospitality hard in the run up to Christmas.

Start of the 2nd Lockdown in England for 4 weeks. So went for an afternoon walk down to Yardley Wood and popped into the Trittiford Mill Pool, just before 3pm.
So was sunburst in the clouds on the Priory Road side of the mill pool.
The bank down to the River Cole was being cut down I noticed as I passed from Highfield Road towards Scribers Lane.

Due to the pandemic, no market here or Snow Dome, so the Bullring has put up the usual Christmas lights and artificial Christmas tree.
Quick trundle down to East Beach and the Lifeboat Station, Lockdown2 means we'll be seeing quite a lot of this for the next month
