Probably the last collaboration I'll be doing for a while since we're now in something near lockdown.

For this shot I used two tripods and two lenses and made the image in one continuous photographic exposure. First I framed the tree with a convenient hole in it with two gelled flashguns positioned either side. Once I've had the lighting nailed on the tree, I replaced the lens cap without ending the exposure. I then switched the camera to another tripod and changed the lens in complete darkness. The 2nd tripod was pointed at my LP buddy, Neil R, who very kindly posed in front of a gelled Godox strobe. All in one go, job done!

This year the light is different...

During lockdown Phoebe and I built an insect hotel out of odd bits of wood, nails and screw and four old donated palletts. Over a few weeks and on our country walks we have gathered "stuff" to fill the cells, just a couple more to go. We have been shopping and managed not to by a piston engine! But did buy lots of plants including some Sempervivums to make a green roof and to add to the smaller cells. Already we have some solitary bee's move in and lots of ladybirds have been seen. Hopefully will be a great home from Autumn......

The capture of a Lockdown Rainbow is much easier than flashing Christmas Lights in the 10minutes after sunset, but hell are we paying a price for these stunning comments by the citizens locked away to protect us all form the Coronavirus.

I would much prefer to have now rainbows and no Coronavirus.

With lockdowns beginning to ease, a nod to the folk who have maitained the stocks of our supermarket shelves through these difficult times.

I say lockdown, but the UK version has been rather half hearted. Probably why we have the second highest death toll in the world.

There is one thing the photograph must contain, the humanity of the moment.

We are making photographs to understand what our lives mean to us.

The best thing about a picture is that it never changes, even when the people in it do.

The camera is an instrument that teaches people how to see without a camera.

I really believe there are things nobody would see if I didn’t photograph them.

It took Covid-19 to get me back in front of a camera. Nothing better to do than lounge around in something sexy!
