A rare opportunity to get a photo of Poole Bridge from this angle. The bridge is closed to vehicles for a week due to maintenance and road works, but open to walk across but with the lockdown is very quiet.

"Lockdown" (2021)

This picture shows the #Schlichtehof in #Steinhagen.

From 10:00 p.m. the courtyard is deserted.

I closed it off by #Lightpainting with a virtual "curtain".😉

Even the shop dummies have had enough of it...

So continuing my adventures into astrophotography and specifically "deep sky" with this view of the Andromeda Galaxy M31. This is a massive step up from my first attempt to capture our close neighbour (its only 2.537 million light years away!). Also in view are M32 and M110 dwarf galaxies.

Not ideal conditions with a first quarter moon and moderate light polution. Looking forward to a new moon next time maybe. So grateful for all those youtube videos on set up and editing. They are invaluable to a newbie like me.

If you have read down to here thank you. I'll reward you with the image specifics! Tracking is with a modified Sky Watcher Star Adventurer. Imaged with the William Optics RedCat 51 and an unmodified Canon 5D MKIII. 1 hour 36 minutes total exposure time with 64 light frames and 45 dark frames @ 90 seconds, f4.9 and is800. Stacked in Starry Sky Stacker and edited with Photoshop and Lightroom.

Mmmm... Freshly-baked rye bread with home-made peanut butter... I can handle a lockdown!

Some unusual houses just around the corner, sorry about the cars but people are not using them for work! and it looked odd when I cut them off

Stay safe & healthy HFF Everyone!!

MY THANKS FOR ALL VISITS AND COMMENTS IT IS APPRECIATED

Porthcawl's main shopping street looks like a ghost town.

This was inspired because of lockdown. Outside my house is a SLOW sign on the road and the shadow of the fence across the road. I positioned myself so it looks like I am locked behind bars. Symbolising the need to slow down the virus by staying at home as much as possible:)

This is what lockdown means for children. It is pretty sad to see this. I can only imagine how the kids must feel when they are told that they are no longer allowed to play in the playground. Overall I tried to convey this image to make it look pretty bleak and match how I feel about it. I reduced the vibrancy and saturation. I increased the contrast and applied some light sepia toning. The darkness in the clouds certainly helps set the mood.

Onto week 4 of a Coronavirus lockdown I am feeling a little trapped to say the least.

Having managed what I hoped were some 'insurance shots' with the 105, I quietly retreated to the house for a longer lens, hoping it would be there when I returned. Fortunately my second body was fitted with something more suitable and I went back to find it now at the opposite end of the bush picking off aphids. Taking aim, I attempted a number of shots but this was extreme hand-held snap shooting with a 600 mm. Despite getting some nice shots of leaves, I did grab some of the Goldcrest, they aren't as sharp as I would have liked but these twitchy little birds make that very difficult.

During the full lockdown we were only allowed our for the 1 hour while taking excercise, hence it was important to get out from time to time. On this night I took the dog out heading into sunset with camera and tripod. Wow, was it worth it!.

Horsham in full lockdown was as pretty as I have ever seen it at dusk, but... most importantly No Vehicles to clone out. No noise.

Moments that I will not forget in a long time, for all the reasons.

How we want this nightmare to end...
