The 2020 Local Slam cast a wider local net than ever before. Instead of designating one co-host, the Denver Center invited five local theatre organizations to both introduce their individual new-play programs to the audience and present one local playwright of their choosing to read a short selection of their latest work-in-progress.
The featured organizations were Boulder Ensemble Theatre Company, Su Teatro, Miners Alley Playhouse (Golden), Theater 29 and Band of Toughs (Boulder).

museumPASSmusees 2023 - Mima - Local Heroes
Local Heroes combines, in the manner of the ancient Greek gymnasium, exercises of the body and the mind. For 4 months, MIMA is a temple of boxing and arts interacting with the visitor.
Local Heroes is a reinterpretation of the ancient Greek gymnasium: a place dedicated to the education of youth in the values of the city through sport and the arts. In this logic, the spaces in the exhibition are reserved either for the practice of boxing or for the celebration of local athletes. The whole is enhanced by artistic interventions born from the meeting between creators and boxers. Posters, photographs, videos and wall paintings are the favourite mediums in the aesthetics of boxing.
The choice of boxing is based on a historical, social and cultural reason. Firstly, the ancestor of boxing, pugilism, was widely practiced in gymnasiums throughout antiquity. Secondly, the boxing community sociologically reflects the youth of the Brussels city centre. Finally, compared to other sports, it is a major source of inspiration for the arts.

Right on sunset the local lads come a-whoopin' and a-hollerin' into the central pool area at the resort, blowing conch shells and waving firesticks around for a while, providing a lovely photo opportunity for us guests and an un-missable indicator that the restaurant is now open for dinner. There is probably some ancient significant meaning about making sure the sun god returns the following morning, but hey, sunrises are over-rated in my opinion.

09-12-14 We explored Brooklyn with several pit stops, and ended up at Local West rooftop in Midtown for a good view.
While driving by this local farm the other day I spotted this Mom and her Calf. I had to stop and take some shots.
Over 1,500 adult Black-browed Albatrosses were seen in the Canal Beagle. It would appear that they had been attracted to several large fish shoals. Also present were hundreds of South American terns and 100+ Southern Fulmars. One flock of sitting birds close to a fish shoal was estimated at 800, mostly adults. These birds were most likely from local offshore islands, The Falklands/ Malvinas and South Georgia. All the images were taken at the central section of Canal Beagle close to Puerto Williams.
