WEEK 45 – Farmington Kroger, September 11th, 2015
This Germantown Kroger certainly has a much better Local Brew setup than the Olive Branch Target! Two whole aisles are dedicated to beer here, as well as a growler station just out of the picture to the left – a feature that seems to be working its way into many a Kroger around here (or at least has plans to), including the Midtown Memphis Union Avenue Kroger once all is said and done there. Though much of this large beer section is devoted to local brews, I think that “We Support Local” sign in the background is actually for the produce section (though with it two-sided, it works for both rather well).

The former McCloud Railway Locomotive #25 passes a swampy pond adjacent to Smith Lake as she hauls a short local mixed train north on the old SP Tillamook Branch. These days, this trackage hosts the Oregon Coast Scenic Railroad, which runs tourist excursions out of Garibaldi, OR, going as far north as Salmonberry. The 30 mile line provides a wide variety of scenery ranging from coastal views of the Pacific Ocean, to small touristy towns such as Rockaway Beach, to the deep wooded wilderness along the Nehalem River in the Salmonberry Canyon. In addition to the little 2-6-2 Prairie type seen here, the railroad also maintains a 2-Truck Heisler Locomotive, which is the former Curtiss Lumber Company #2. The photo freight seen here was operated in October of 2014 as part of a Lerro Productions Charter.

Montana Rail Link Gas Local lead by SD45-2 no. 332, east of Perma, Montana. May 9, 2010. No. 332 is a former Erie Lackawanna SDP45 rebuilt with an extended SD45-2 hood.
Driving into the Lake Nakuru National Park, Kenya, I like to take photos of local color, culture and just anything that interests me. Donkeys are seen all over the country, They are used to haul everything!
Drifting along the causeway on the edge the Great Salt Lake near Burmester is the Wendover local. Two SD40-2 with UP 3514 leading, bring the short train - one gondola - west.
These two sets of local power at Kingman AZ looked better than anything I saw on the main that trip.
Across the country and in many team sports today sees a good number of local darby's. In Wakefield Trinities case they are up against high flying Castleford, who are certainly the form team of the league year to date.
In this picture taken earlier in the season Wakefield centre, Bill Tupou is seen heading for the line. The bookies have Cas winning by 22 points, but Wakefield have been playing pretty well of late. Here's to a fine game. It'll certainly be hard fought in the early stages.
Items in the Museo Maffeiano, Verona. Memorial of a local architect/builder who obtained a magistracy. You can see his curule seat and lictors, as well as the tools of his trade.
Within the past two weeks, Canadian National's Addison Local has been switching out locomotives every 2-3 days or so and yeah...
Elgin, Joliet, and Eastern locomotive 669 leads the Addison Local as it switches out a string of hoppers from a plastic factory in Villa Park IL.
A different location indeed and I took advantage of the creative angles this place had to offer.

Petteri Tarma, from Joensuu, taxis his locally-sponsored Cap 231 back after a competition flight. I was able to catch the Josek aircraft just as it passed the banner advertising the pilot's, and the sponsor's, home town.
Continuing the trip south, local MCL1 rolls through the midwest countryside of southeast Illinois. Seeing what most of the trees up here looked like in early April, can totally understand why so many midwest fans detest "stick season."
Guy nearby has a vintage Gran Turismo. I like how he just rides it around and parks it on the street like a normal car.
