We took the local train to Danyingon to visit a local market. This image of the people and the decorative train took my eye. Love the big arms surrounding the frames of the windows which seems to wrap this pic up!

With the news of Lenfels preparing to attack Maldrake's fortress, Glorfindel summoned his hosts to march to the aid of his "ally". Before launching an assault with full force, he decided to make a special type of troop that can tackle not just Maldrake's elite guard, but also stand up to the bloody Areani order.

This sweet old lady gave me directions to my friend`s house up above Mizumi Iro (village in the hills outside the city), then we had a little chat on my way back.

After switching in the fog, UP's Davenport Local is ready to head back to Santa Cruz and then home at Watsonville Jct, CA on Aug. 25, 1999 . The now closed cement plant at Davenport and reduced customer base has relegated this line to as needed service by the Sierra RR, the new operator for the last couple of years.

DME Rochester Local

The DME based a wayfreight out of Rochester for my entire memory. It lasted into the CP days, but in the past few years it's been run 3 days a week out of Waseca.

Here, the local is pulling a gon out of the scrap yard. This trackage is the former "Oil City", a concentration of oil dealerships on the south side of Rochester. By this time, most of the dealerships had closed and none had rail service. As one might predict, one night in the 1950s, several of the businesses caught fire. It was beyond the city limits at the time, so water had to be hauled in to fight the fire.

Fano has a strong fishing tradition. Our fishermen provide some of the finest bluefish the Adriatic Sea has to offer. Among that loot, often the best part is also the cheapest. The particular kind of herring you can see in the picture is extremely common in the fish markets of Fano and it isvalued no more than 5€ per kilo, but is highly tasty (especially if grilled with bread crumb, garlic, parsley, olive oil, salt and pepper) and shows excellent nutritional values. No surprise that the bluefish in general and the herring in particular has became a real symbol of Fano's sea tradition and of the harbor area, one the most old areas of the city.

Strobist info: no.1 speedlight SB-28 with DIY coroplast grid from high right (skimming the herrings and the "hair waves") @1/16 zoomed at 85mm (key); no.1 on axis speedlight SB-80DX with DIY ring flash @ 1/8 zoomed at 105mm (fill). SB-28 triggered by Phottix Atlas; SB-80DX triggered by built-in optical slave.
