The depot isn't the only impressive facade in Colfax made from Colfax sandstone. The Colfax Municipal Building has an auditorium inside along with housing city offices, the library and the police department. January 15, 2024.

Better pictures upon arrival. A rural news agent in NSW closed recently, and it seems the owner was giving things away to locals. Not sure on the size, but judging by the doorknob, and the bench, they're fairly sizable.

After a wonderful stay in Chaka Salt Lake, me and other photographers continued our way to Tibet. In the morning, our drivers stopped by a gas station to refuel the cars.

We saw a local food vendor selling breakfast. We immediately rushed towards her. She is specialized in making egg wraps. Almost every photographer ordered one. Her wraps were made to order which were fresh and hot. After my first bite along with a soy milk drink, I could conclude that it was one of the best breakfasts in my two weeks of journey :)

Historic Shelby Street Bridge over the Cumberland River in downtown Nashville, Tennessee. The bridge was constructed from 1907-09 by the Foster-Creighton-Gould Company in association with the American Bridge Company. Originally called the Sparkman Street Bridge, it was later renamed the Shelby Street (or Avenue) Bridge.

The 3,150’ long bridge is comprised of 48 spans. The main spans are two Parker through trusses, one Camelback through truss, one deck Pratt truss, and two reinforced concrete truss spans. An unusual feature for the time is the concrete arch trusses at the west end of the bridge.

The bridge closed to automobile traffic in 1998 and reopened for pedestrian use in August 2003. In 2014, the bridge was renamed the John Seigenthaler Pedestrian Bridge in honor of journalist and civil rights advocate John Seigenthaler.

The bridge was posted to the National Register of Historic Places in 1986 (NRHP No. 86003237). It was designated as a Metro Nashville Landmark (Local Landmark BL2004-406) by Metro Nashville-Davidson County.

"Bliss Dance" is a forty-foot tall sculpture by local artist Marco Cochrane that has graced Treasure Island's Great Lawn since 2011. Displayed under a Use Permit between TIDA, the artist, and the Black Rock Arts Foundation (BRAF), Bliss Dance has inspired countless residents and visitors to the Island alike with it's grace and beauty (www.sftreasureisland.org/index.aspx?page=447).

The sculpture, of a dancing woman, stands 40 feet tall, weighs 7000 pounds and is ingeniously constructed of triangulated geodesic struts. By day, the dancer’s ‘skin’, made of stainless steal mesh, shimmers in the sun. By night, it alights brilliantly with a complex array of 1000 slowly changing l.e.d. colored lights. Viewers may interact with and manipulate the lighting effects with an iphone application. The dancer’s delicate, graceful form precariously balances on one foot, adding to the astonishing impression of imminent movement and lifelike presence (laughingsquid.com/bliss-dance-a-40-foot-tall-steel-sculpt...).

With only my mobile phone camera upon my person, I decided to squeeze out the best possible image quality. I am not a fan of phone cameras, they take twice as long to use than a DSLR and produce results a fraction of the quality. Yet, if the compisition and light is good and the colour true, then it is worth sharing the result.
