Significaron un reparto anticipado entre ambas partes sobre las condiciones y los beneficios que reportaría la conquista de América. Así, en este documento se le otorgan al navegante genovés los títulos de almirante, virrey y gobernador general en todos los territorios que descubriera o ganase durante su vida, así como la décima parte de todos los beneficios obtenidos, nombrando como herederos a sus sucesores de forma vitalicia. También se le concedió un diezmo de todas las mercaderías que hallase, ganase y hubiese en los lugares conquistados. Están firmadas por el secretario de Fernando y hombre de confianza, Luis de Santángel.
En ella se llegó a un acuerdo definitivo entre los Reyes Católicos y Cristóbal Colón.
TUCSON, Ariz. – U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers at the Raul Hector Castro Port in Douglas, Arizona, arrested a 27-year-old Douglas man Saturday morning when he attempted to walk across the border into Mexico with a loaded firearm. When a CBP officer monitoring southbound pedestrian traffic attempted to stop the man for questioning, the man tried to run across the border but was caught. Officers then searched the man and discovered he was carrying a .40-caliber Smith and Wesson handgun with nine rounds of ammunition in the magazine and one round in the chamber. Officers turned the man over to Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s Homeland Security Investigations.

BNSF SD40-2’s 1754 and 1615 rest in Springfield, MO. These two units are now in service as the power for the local that serves downtown. The green H2 paint is starting to show through on the trucks.
This picture may not really demonstrate what I want to demonstrate. I haven't worked with Panos in a long time. This one is very imperfect.
The north end (left) of the pond used to be colder than the south (right) end. This has been reversed, at least for a couple of months. You may or may not be able to see that there is a thin skein of ice on the south end....None on the north end. Same thing for the past 2 months. Odd.

Fano has a strong fishing tradition. Our fishermen provide some of the finest bluefish the Adriatic Sea has to offer. Among that loot, often the best part is also the cheapest. The particular kind of herring you can see in the picture is extremely common in the fish markets of Fano and it isvalued no more than 5€ per kilo, but is highly tasty (especially if grilled with bread crumb, garlic, parsley, olive oil, salt and pepper) and shows excellent nutritional values. No surprise that the bluefish in general and the herring in particular has became a real symbol of Fano's sea tradition and of the harbor area, one the most old areas of the city.

When the weather was really rainy, these funny weed flowers would pop up everywhere. They reminded me of the Lorax.

DME Rochester Local
The DME based a wayfreight out of Rochester for my entire memory. It lasted into the CP days, but in the past few years it's been run 3 days a week out of Waseca.
Here, the local is pulling a gon out of the scrap yard. This trackage is the former "Oil City", a concentration of oil dealerships on the south side of Rochester. By this time, most of the dealerships had closed and none had rail service. As one might predict, one night in the 1950s, several of the businesses caught fire. It was beyond the city limits at the time, so water had to be hauled in to fight the fire.

Shot with a 1954-56 model Rolleiflex Automat 6X6 TLR camera. Carl Zeiss Tessar f/3,5 75mm lens with Synchro - Compur shutter, on Fujichrome Provia 100F Color Reversal Film (120 Roll Film). My second roll in this camera.
Film developed at Oslo Foto and color positivs scanned with Epson Perfection V850 Pro, processed in Lightroom & Photoshop.
