My first time to top load on jeepney in Sabtang Island in Batanes. Bumpy ride, mountain cliffs and the beautiful scenery and people of Sabtang are worth the ride. One girl can't climb on top so she sob a little :) I'll probably put some pillow on my butt next time I'll top load again. Bumpy ride hurts :)

Late finish tonight, off prompt today, it's quite hard to match prompts to pre chosen photos as I'm visiting my parents. Anyway, today I felt like making a LO inspired by a quilt so I went on Pinterest and found this design.

The truck driver (my husband Dal), standing on corn that's already in the truck, directs Gene as to where to dump more so the weight is uniform. It takes about 4 corn picker loads to fill the truck. It takes about an hour for the picker to pick the corn and fill the truck up. This is a 4-row corn picker. Gene told me they make some up to 36 rows, mainly used in the midwest. Around here, the fields aren't big enough for something that huge. The corn is planted knowing what corn picker will be used on it. This field was planted in 4-row "marriages". Gene said this is a good size machine because you can drive it on the road. You can use bigger or smaller heads to pick different size marriages. He said he cut about 800 acres last year and around 200 thiis year. He leases the machine.

Under the flap you see the photo I snapped of Alice finishing her postcards for our swap. Sorry Alice, I know it's not the greatest photo but the story was pretty funny and I want it as part of my Reunion Album. 😊

Inspired by a quote in Stacy Julian's upcoming creativity book from Ella Publishing - listen to Noell Hymann's Paperclipping Rountable #7: The Process of Scrapbooking because both Angie Lucas and Stacy Julian are on the show and Angie leaks a little more information about Stacy's upcoming book! Very exciting stuff!

Remarks/comments:

A celebration from long ago for today's prompt - the photo marks the Golden Wedding of my great, great, grandparents! The journalling reads:

As a genealogist, finding old photos from generations ago is a real joy. They are so rare, and of course the further back you go the rarer they become. So imagine my delight when I found this one hidden away, marking the Golden Wedding of my great great grandparents, Matthew and Sarah Ward. Taken in Wakefield in August 1935, it shows:

Front l-r: Elsie Bottomley (my grandmother), Matthew Ward, Sarah Ward, Dorothy Ward (cousin).

Back l-r: (Not known), George W Bottomley (my gt grandfather), Elsie Smart (my gt gt Aunt), Herbert Ward (my gt gt Uncle), Clara Bottomley (my gt grandmother), Nellie Ward (my gt gt aunt by marriage).

A 4x4 laid atop the protruding Bunks on the opposite side pulls tight against the steelframe and provides an anchorpoint to self load the log. One Staunchion keeps the pull from sliding the 4x4 timber along.

Ideal for when a Tree isn't handy opposite, the Blocks allow the rope to be redirected to get the proper direction of pull required.
