Newcastle, Australia is a large coal loading port. There is some magnificent machinery that takes the coal from the heap and via a series of conveyer belts get it to the ships that line the coastline waiting to be filled. This is one such beastie that I managed to snap just on sunset yesterday. It is difficult to get into a decent position to get a shot as the whole area is security fenced and there is not that many places to pull over on the very busy road that runs by the facility. I'll just have to do some more recon work and sort it out!

GMP officer took over from our Cheshire colleagues and escorted the load to the Yorkshire border.

Day Four
So I don't know that I totally compared & contrasted...but I tried to in my journaling.
I've got a good guy...and he's definitely an original.
This is the same crazy size as the others, 6.5 x 11.
The top rose picture is elevated with pop dots. It's one of my favorite pictures!
Journaling reads:
"Jon bought me this yellow rose when we "officially" started dating.
We quickly dubbed it "the love fern".
He could have bought red or white-
but he bought yellow.
He could have gotten a dozen-
but he got one.
He could have done nothing-
but that's not him.
Unbeknownst to me, he pressed the rose so it could live forever.
My little love fern. :)

Christ Church, Southwark, London
The 1627 church was destroyed in the Blitz, and the 1959 church by Paxton Watson was described by Pevsner as a feeble little replacement, which is perhaps a little unfair. The red brick modernism of the barrel-roofed nave running sideways on behind the slender tower was already dated by the time of construction, but it is not without a certain elegance, although it seems increasingly municipal and suburban as this area of Southwark is rapidly drawn within the orbit of central London.
The best features of the church are two large sequences of stained glass, one of 1959 by Kenneth Bunton, the other of 1984 celebrating the church's 25th anniversary by John Lawson, both showing features of life within the parish. The latter range already seems ancient, with almost all the industry and commerce depicted now having fled to be replaced by the glass and steel of the skyscrapers which dominate Southwark High Street, not to mention Tate Modern just across the way.
The ferry to Honiara makes a brief stop at Noro....Brief my be an understatement! The boat didn't even stop moving yet managed to load this entire group.... Now that's teamwork!

A stack train is stopped while a trainload of turbine windmill parts rolls past. I can't believe how big the generators are that sit on top of the poles! The blades are also huge, spanning over two flatcars.
