This rather large fabricated load takes up every inch of the trailer and more, with two rather nasty protrusions sticking out the rear , this is one load you would not want to get to close to. This trailer was not part of the woolfenden fleet, but hired in as and when required. The fabricated load was manufactured by Matthews Engineering Ltd. Anybody have any idear what this load is ?
CREATIVITY QUOTE that inspired the page:
"We are each gifted in a unique and important way. It is our privilege and our adventure to discover our own special light." - Mary Dunbar
When I read this quote I instantly thought that this would be more meaningful for my daughter to read - but not at this time when she is six years old, but more like when she was 16 years old and she's in the midst of highschool and peer pressure to conform, thats when it would be really important for her to remember that she is unique. So I had this beautiful picture of her that was full of lightness taken last Sunday during her brother's birthday party (which is why she's holding balloons - she later set them free and made a wish - there were 6 balloons); and I had these cute little postage stamps that just happen to have the numbers "6" and "16" on them and I thought I'd make this page look a bit like an envelope. Maybe someday, when she's 16 or in the future sometime, she'll be having a hard time and be able to look at this page and get a better sense of herself.
{And morbidly: My Dad died at 56 years old and I always wish I could find some kind of letter from him. So, not that I'm planning on going anywhere in the next 10 years (before she's 16), but just in case...
{my grandmother always said if you worry about it then it won't happen} - so I guess I'm covered & I'll live a good long life - but then again, just in case, she'll have this one ;) }
Journaling: "From Allison at 6 years old 2/10: Don't forget that you are unique and beautiful." "To Allison at 16 years old: Stay true to yourself and your light in this age of conformity and know that I love
you. Love, Mom."

I can not tell a lie. I cleaned up a bit before this photo. It was REALLY bad, but I left the mess on my table. The card table to the left has my counterfeit kit from last month and the main table has this month's kit. So, I have that bench, my old kitchen table AND the card table and where do I usually end of scrapping? ON THE FLOOR!

Name of Program: Housing reconstruction program after Gorkha Earthquake
Location:Naukunda Rural Municipality-05, Rasuwa ,Nepal
Building Typology: Load Bearing Stone Masonry in Mud Mortar
The house belongs to Mr.Laxman B.K.He has received the third tranche of the GON housing grant. The house is a one room SMM(Stone masonary in Mud Mortar)structure with RC band and light flexible CGI roof. The construction of the house is completed.
Stone in mud buildings are constructed using dressed or undressed stones available at the site with mud mortar. The structural walls are the main load-bearing component of the building. The walls are usually 450-650 mm. thick. Such thick walls are generally constructed in multiple wythes with the filler material (small pieces of stones) between the walls. The floor system is the flexible type of mud flooring on bamboo or timber joists. The roof system is also flexible type with CGI sheets or tiles over timber rafters.
Nepal suffered a massive loss of lives and property on Saturday 25 April 2015, when the devastating magnitude 7.6 earthquake struck Nepal. Subsequent aftershocks, including one of magnitude 7.3 near the Chinese border on 12 May, produced additional losses of life and property.
The earthquake triggered avalanches on Mount Everest and in the Langtang valley. Villages were flattened and people were made homeless across 31 districts, with 14 districts suffering the highest impact. Infrastructure was damaged throughout the earthquake zone. Historic neighborhoods and heritage sites were destroyed in the Kathmandu Valley.
As a result of the earthquake, 8,790 people died and more than 22,300 people were injured. Assessments showed that at least 498,852 private houses and 2,656 government buildings were destroyed. Another 256,697 private houses and 3,622 government buildings were partially damaged. In addition, 19,000 classrooms were destroyed and 11,000 damaged.
The earthquake affected manufacturing, production, and trade in agriculture as well as tourism and other areas of the service sector, thereby weakening the national economy. Economic growth fell in 2015 and has picked up slowly 2016. Once fully underway, reconstruction should contribute to economic growth in the coming years.
According to initial estimates arrived at during the Post-Disaster Needs Assessment (PDNA), NPR 669 billion would be required to reconstruct damaged properties and infrastructure and to support recovery in affected sectors of the economy.
The government was providing 300 hundred thousand grant for Private housing reconstruction & 100 hundred thousand grant for retrofitting of the private house damaged by earthquake

Metro-North train loading and unloading passengers at the crowded Peekskill station. The railroad was closed between Peekskill and Garrison due to a rock slide that landed on the tracks north of Peekskill. Hundreds of riders were stranded for hours while they waited for the shuttle buses running between the two stations for connecting service. Amtrak trains were held at Croton-Harmon and Beacon for hours as the MTA crew worked through the night to inspect and clear the rails.

Totally off-prompt, but it's still a layout! This is my daughter, taken after she had her self-designed tattoo done. The background paper seemed to suit it perfectly, especially as she loves images of Buddhas, and meant I needed to do very little other than add the photo!

Loading timber on the "Åževkettin Sonay" (IMO 9334313) at the ABES Terminal at the 5th Haven Dock at the port of Antwerp
An interesting heavy haulage (and craneage) job going on at the Los Christianos harbour wall. Six and eight wheel tractor units and low loaders hauling concrete blocks for a massive crawler crane to lift and lower into the sea, I can't get close to the crane there but I can at the loading point. We are walking seven mile to get there, the sun is shining so Jayne isn't bothered, other people go to Loro tropical park, she says we go to the lorry park( only for half an hour, and it is on our normal walking route)
