It's actually because of Ali Edwards that I heard of this book. I love it- it totally inspires me to do better every year. The Journalling reads: This is one of the few books that I read repeatedly. It has become my tradition to read it each January, to reset my compass for the year ahead. To remind me that living a great story is possible and worthwhile. And that I should make the effort for myself and my family. The rest is quotes from the book.

... books for the little ones! We try to make sure that when the young ones are staying with use they take time out to read a few pages of a book. Lewis, does enjoy reading but they little ones like a story where they go to bed and I also like reading to them!

I thought I would be so fast tonight, but then I got thinking about "missing" and it took me forever to figure out my feelings and articulate what I wanted to say. Super grateful for my uncle who scanned a bunch of family photos a few years ago, they are a gold mine!

Journalling reads:

There are 29 first cousins on my Dad’s side of the family and we were a noisy boisterous bunch. My memories of childhood are packed full of times spent with my extended family: holidays, Sunday dinners, sleepovers, summer visits, many of us were in the same church branch for a number of years. I’m not really close to any of them now, mainly because we don’t live that close, but also with a family that big it’s easy to drift apart. I miss that connectedness. One of my biggest regrets with the life that Darrel and I have built is that we don’t live near our families and our kids don’t have those same close relationships with their cousins. And in fact, I don’t really have close relationships with my siblings either. I don’t think we want it this way, at least I don’t, it’s just that we are busy with our lives, and kids and jobs. But it makes me feel really sad so I should do something different so that I get a different result. The best way to predict the future is to create it, right?!"

Thanks for viewing ladies, and all your support!

Thanks to the girlfriend for picking up a couple matching t's for the bench, and Load Limit for hooking it up!

With two loaders working to load six cars at a time, filling the train goes pretty quickly. When the 6 car cut is loaded the cars are staged on the loading dock tracks of the mill, including inside. The car mover then spots another set of cars on the loading track.

I did this layout for today´s challenge, I used an old studio calico kit I had (Yearbook) from october 2009.

I loved this kit soo much, that I was afraid to do something with it, whenever I took it to work with it I thought that I did not have the appropriate photo or I could find a better topic to use the papers for, etc.. Today, after a year I finally broke that kti and did this page:)

It´s just a reminder to myself to fly high, to dream big and to remember that I can achieve anything I want if I put effort, love and faith to it. A great challenge!! TFL.

My grandfather strapping on luggage to a car after a visit from his parents and nephews.

One of the most obvious old-fashioned traits of this store is the on-street pseudo-loading dock on the back of the store. This is certainly not something that the city would allow these days, and I wonder if they ever run into major trouble having non-exclusive use of the space -- legally, at least, it's just a general-use 30 minute truck load zone. (Similarly, they probably shouldn't be storing stuff on the sidewalks like they are in this picture, but I can't get too irritated by that since they have incredibly little back room space for a store like this...)
