Rare Yale loading shovel with a Hawkfawk timber grapple. That's a nice 6-wheel Matador almost out of shot. The grapple will appear again in later photographs on a Furakawa loader.

We arrived at night and this is what greeted us in the morning. (Only my husband had visited Perth before so it was a surprise for me and the kids).

To get to Basoko it was two days down river in a pirogue with an outboard motor. A second pirogue was strapped to the side to carry the team’s motorcycles. Most of the roads are so overgrown and damaged that even four wheel drive jeeps cannot get through.

My daughter and I had a day out on Sunday and we wandered around Old Town Warsaw and took photos.

Last Saturday we went with Analuna to a trial of a new restaurant that will be opening soon in Lima, La Gloria del Campo, from Oscar Velarde the same owner of La Gloria from Lima who now is bringing the concept of a countryside (campestre) restaurant but with the amazing quality and respect for products that is a trade mark of La Gloria.

There were about 40 people invited, the food was great, some of the best cabrito lechal suckling goat that I have ever tried, and some pollo a la brasa that was truly amazing, loads of pisco and wine, we had a great afternoon met some new people and enjoy the sun which has been away from the city for a while.

Analuna played with some baby rabbits and ducks that were there to keep the children entertained.

In short when La Gloria del Campo opens in October I think it will make a great success, the location in the countryside, the amazing food, and the care that went into building the locale will make this place a winner.

Loading straight tracers into my ammo tray. Small box held 300 rounds, main box held 1200. Could never have too much ammo! You can see the various colored smoke grenades on the verticle support. White smoke on the gun mount was a quick release drop point to mark incoming enemy fire locations.

All art is but imitation of nature.-- Seneca (Letters from a Stoic - Letter LXV: On the First Cause)

The universe itself is God and the universal outpouring of its soul. --Chrysippus (Quoted by Cicero in De Natura Deorum)

Season of mists and mellow fruitfulness

Close bosom-friend of the maturing sun

Conspiring with him how to load and bless

With fruit the vines that round the thatch-eves run;

To bend with apples the moss'd cottage-trees,

And fill all fruit with ripeness to the core;

To swell the gourd, and plump the hazel shells

With a sweet kernel; to set budding more,

And still more, later flowers for the bees,

Until they think warm days will never cease,

For Summer has o'er-brimm'd their clammy cells. --To Autumn. by John Keats

The photo looks innocent enough but you don't get to see my little sister push her twin off the stool and him giggling like a little girl because he thought he was so funny. You don't see my older brother Barrett use his spit to flatten Fred's cowlick. These were the best of times! Kids being kids. The journaling telling the story is hidden under the photo. With both my parents and my older brother having passed on I am the only one that remembers the photographer doubled over laughing at the antics. What a great memory to capture.

My home town is Flint Michigan. We spent the evening looking at slides trying to find the right story. In the end, we realized we have no way to scan the slides. Thus, we have my son with a ponytail Mohawk. I tried, but these prompts are so hard.
