Candid street photography from Glasgow, Scotland. I just loved the combination of lines, shadow and pattern on her coat for this shot, enjoy!

I've always liked this look of a Ruby-throated Hummingbird with its wings straight over its head.

Having gathered their three units into one consist, the crew of this Illinois Terminal Belt loaded grain train at Heyworth, IL now pulls south to clear the siding switch for the Tate & Lyle grain elevator. They'll shove back to put the train all together before proceeding south to Clinton. Power is MRIX GP10s 8317 and 8344, and MP15AC 1477.

This line includes approximately 10.7 miles of Illinois Central's original Charter line, permanently severed just north of the train in Heyworth, and south of Clinton.

Thanks to WR and the Facebook universe for the heads up on this move.

Wild Line is the name of this rather new suspension bridge on the treetop walk in the Black Forest which I visited last week. It offers a great view but is a challenge if you have a problem with heights, especially as it is swaying and bouncing as you cross.

This is one image in a series I'm shooting on parking decks ... shapes and forms, light and shadow play, mood and atmosphere. Some images are minimalist; others representational; still others abstract. To see more in the series click Parking Deck Series

a child stands alone on the stairs, quietly holding the rail. the line of light above cuts through the space like a thought — clear, silent, and pointed directly at her.

there is no urgency. only form. only stillness.

this is how presence begins:

not with action, but with a line and a pause.

While first passing this famous beach... there was hardly any ice....... one little piece near the waves... some almost melted pieces at the back of the beach... The storm that had raged in the days before had trapped all ice in the east corner of the Jökulsárlón lagoon and nothing was floating out into the ocean.

What a difference it was some days later... There was almost too much ice on the beach and in the crashing waves... I really had to search for a composition, further down the beach. Then I found these three distinct pieces of ice: transparent, white and blue. They were lined up perfectly for only a short time between the continuously coming waves and, while dodging those same waves, I managed to take this exposure.

ow do you plant asparagus? Farmers plant asparagus crowns, a stem attached to a long string of roots, which are planted about 15 to 20 cm (6 to 8 inches) under the ground. The asparagus is left to grow for a year and harvested the following year. During the first harvest, farmers have a two week harvest period.

Wyoming

July 2022

Markers in the Canyon tell boaters when they cross the Wyoming-Montana State Line on Bighorn Lake. Though still in Bighorn Canyon National Recreation Area on either side, fishing and boat regulations are different for each state. One needs the appropriate fishing license depending on which side of the line they fish

The Montana-Wyoming State Line lies along the 45th parallel north, halfway between the north pole and the equator.

Although a Soo GP38-2 isn't leading, CP 4522 provides a bit of EMD variety.
