Wie ich schon vor Wochen erwähnt habe, waren drei meiner Katzen an einem Schnupfen erkrankt.
Lizzi und Lotte haben sich schnell davon erholt, nur die kleine Line hat es schwerer erwischt. Sie hat eine schwere Augenerkrankung davon getragen und bekommt immer noch Tabletten. Zum Glück ist das schlimmste nicht eingetroffen, wie der Tierarzt befürchtet hat. Sie ist nicht erblindet, aber die Augen werden wohl so trüb bleiben.
Das schöne ist, sie hat ihre alte Lebenslust wieder gewonnen.
The northern city of Iqaluit, in Canada's arctic territory, Nunavut, has no road connection with the rest of Canada. Everything needed from food to building materials, finds its way here by air or ship. The annual sealift is vital to ensuring availability of all that is needed to sustain a northern city of nine thousand people year round.
I have been after a shot like this for a long time – a shorebird caught in the middle of a foam line created by the gentle waves as they reach the shoreline. This little sanderling was scurrying back and forth between the waves searching for tiny morsels to snack on. It makes for lots of “throw aways” on the card to get the bird and the foam just right. I just love how the light highlights the bubbles in the foam, the bird and the incoming wave.

A lone figure stands in shallow water near the shore, silhouetted in black and white as they cast a fishing line into the calm expanse. A tree trunk anchors the left side of the frame, and a bush softens the foreground on the right. The water stretches into the distance, smooth and reflective—early morning light, I think, though I was too focused on not tripping over roots to check the time (with me this is a serious concern).
I spotted them mid-cast, perfectly framed by nature’s own composition. They had the kind of quiet focus that made me feel like I was interrupting a sacred ritual… with a camera. I crouched, adjusted, and took the shot just as the line landed, like a whisper across the water. It wasn’t about the fish—it was about the mood. The hush. The way solitude sometimes wears waders and doesn’t care who’s watching.

A monochrome image featuring a row of bicycles parked at a rental station. There are about 30 stations with 200 bikes to rent in the greater Des Moines metro area, but at a brisk 20°F this morning, the demand is very low. All the bikes are here, all lined up. This rental station was photographed at E Grand Avenue and Robert D Ray Drive in downtown Des Moines, Iowa.

Three tiny juvenile snails, fattening themselves up for overwintering. The leaf is backlit by sunshine so the translucent eye stalks allow the light to glow through.
The image shows a line-up of three snails/six eye stalks for Macro Mondays theme 'In a Row'.
It was W.C. Fields who said "Never work with children or animals." Perhaps he was referring specifically to snails?
No snails were harmed in the making of this photograph.
The “line_up“ is a paperwork series I developed since 2010. The “liners” are made out of paper (Din A3/A4),
oil paint and graphite. The theme is the hermetical laws of polarity and movement. There is no ending and no beginning in any direction, just an endless movement. You have the possibility to arrange the papers like you want and that makes it an endless playground for my photo-work and the eyes of the viewers.

The Great Falls in Paterson, New Jersey is only 15 miles west from Manhattan in New York City. If President Obama approves the bill, this will be the latest addition to the US national parks.
Racerunners are extremely fast which makes them very hard to photograph. I was lucky that I heard this one rustling in the grass as it was seeking cover. They usually disappear into their hide holes, but this was paused to look back at me for a few seconds and that allowed me time to aim and get a few frames. It was a good day.
