Great Western Railway Class 42xx 2-8-0T 4277 "Hercules" rolls into a relatively tranquil-looking Kingswear with the 15:30 from Paignton. There was little planning for this shot, I didn't have any knowledge of the timetable so in hindsight I was lucky that I heard a whistle just after parking and was able to locate a vantage point.

Norbury Junction (Grid Ref SJ 793228) is a canal junction about 1 mile (1.6 km) to the south east of Norbury, in Staffordshire, England. It opened in 1835, and closed in 1944, although the main line of the Shropshire Union Canal still runs through it.

Almost all of these line gauges were found in some old printshop where I purchased type or equipment. The wooden advertising sticks are rarely accurate, but several were made by machinist suppliers and are highly accurate and made from the best materials. I've used them all at some point; the longest ones are great for poster work.

I saw this AM, that Molossus had posted this kunstkramkiste.wordpress.com/2011/07/26/how-to-do-liniens.... I had started this many moons ago and just found it in my files yesterday. It's not completed, but it follows the same mind-set, used in the above link.

I found a collection of old negatives taken during the photographer's trip to New York for the World's Fair of 1939-40. There are some great snapshots of some of the daily goings on, as well as images of some of the more iconic structures at the fair. They are a great glimpse into the last few calm moments before the storm of war changed the world forever. Enjoy!

Merchant Navy Class ‘35028’ Clan Line on the rear of the ECS from London Victoria to Stewarts Lane TMD (headed by 67004), Friday 22nd August 2014. This was after it had worked the British Pullman service from London earlier that morning on a circular tour of Kent and Surrey. The redevelopment of the iconic Battersea Power Station is well under way in the distance.

I was out and about around Swansea earlier on and spotted this Bova,T536 WWY,of A Line of Coventry.Fair play though,15 years old surely and half way through a 300 plus mile duty.Hope she has a good trip back anyway.

When I was in the secondhand clothes business I used to take loads up to the exporters at Sutton Coldfield and Exhall in an Iveco Turbo Daily. It used to take me between 7 and 8 hours round trip, including tipping the cargo.I remember one day being starving on the way back and a poster came to mind of a flame grilled chicken burger at one of the services.£3.99 seemed ok so I pulled in and ordered one on the way back.Big mistake!!

What I received was tiny,a burger about the size of a swan matchbox and chips which looked like matches relieved of their sulphur.I was about to complain til I clocked the poster again."Not actual size" in small print by the pic! I ended up calling off in the valleys on the way back to a proper chippie.Too many chips are still no good though better than going hungry after all eh.....

Been using Line as a model before, lots of years ago, not sure when last time, but at least 3 years ago.

Think this is the favorite shoot from the series. And i managed to get the focus too.

The Aero Ektar is a wonderfull lens, but it takes a bit more that a summer and 24 sheets of film to manage. . .

The former Southern Pacific / Pacific Electric Depot building in North Hollywood, California, sits in plain view, its protective restoration fencing removed, as it waits to again serve the traveling public... albeit as a coffee shop.

The Tennessee/Georgia state line at this point is about 12 miles south of where I grew up in Cleveland, Bradley County, Tennessee. Back before there was an interstate highway, this was the quickest way from Cleveland to Atlanta, Georgia, where my Conn grandparents and lots of other extended family lived. It was a 120 mile trip (one way) and we made it several times a year. Dad always honked the horn and my siblings and I yelled and clapped every time we crossed the state line, either going to Atlanta or returning home again.
