My Lexus RX 350 is at the dealership for its first service in 18 months. This NX 300 is a loaner. Nice car, a little smaller than my RX.

Now that I have picked up a few new tricks I wanted to try another car shoot. Published at www.lexusoflehighvalley.com/blogs/1792/4-places-buy-car-a...
The SC models (SC300 and SC400) were styled in Toyota’s California studios, aimed toward the US market. This one, the SC300 had the 2JZ-GE twin cam inline 6 engine which was also offered in the initial GS300 sedan model.
These had an interesting door hinge design, intended to allow easier ingress/egress in tight spots.

The Gen 2 SC models continued to 2010, after which the models were discontinued.

The Lexus LFA is a two-seat exotic sports coupe produced by Lexus as a concept car, "halo" vehicle, racing prototype, and production model. It is the second model in the F marque line of performance vehicles from Lexus, following the IS F. Three concept versions have been shown, each debuting at the North American International Auto Show with the LF-A designation as part of the LF Series concept line. The first LF-A concept premiered in 2005, followed in 2007 by a second LF-A with a more completely furnished interior and exterior. The third version of the LF-A, a roadster model, premiered in 2008. The production model, trademarked LFA, was shown at the Tokyo Motor Show in October 2009.
The production Lexus LFA features a new V10 engine and a carbon fiber-reinforced polymer (CFRP) body. The use of CFRP materials, which account for 65 percent of the LFA's body composition, is to reduce overall weight for improved performance. The LFA is scheduled to go into production in late 2010, with a projected run of 500 hand-built vehicles at an estimated base price of $US350,000-375,000. A race track-tuned variant is scheduled for 2012.
After a year of sporadic building, I've finally finished my scale model of the Lexus LFA. The LFA is one of my top five favorite cars, along with the Enzo Ferrari and Pagani Zonda, which I have also built in LEGO. The design is understated compared to most exotics, but still very striking at the same time in my opinion.
Overall, this was a very fun car to build. It took me a while to produce a front end that I was satisfied with; although I am still not entirely happy with the exposed studs above the headlights (LEGO needs to make wedge tiles!).
My favorite part is probably the rear half. I'm quite pleased with the way the side air intakes above the rear wheels turned out, as well as how smoothly the rear spoiler fits when retracted.
Thanks for visiting, and I hope my next car doesn't take an entire year to build!
