I promise I won't post photos of it every week, but I thought a quick update would be in order after my first few days with the old thing.

It's great! Drives so smoothly with no untoward rattles or noises, almost all of the toys work, got the original large battery charged and refitted and all I've had to do otherwise is put petrol in it.

It came with half a tank, but it was already going down so I've filled it to the brim to see what kind of economy it's doing (or not!).

I hope the MoT at the end of the year doesn't reveal anything too dramatic, it is undoubtedly something I want to keep on the fleet and I'm already wondering what might have to be sacrificed....

It's been interesting to compare it with the modern Lexus RX I was also using some days of the week, and also my Camry estate of similar vintage. Similar languid, lazy feel to the Camry, and the LS's V8 gives a similarly muted, wafty performance to the RX's V6/hybrid combination. Interesting to have an auto 'box with conventional torque convertor rather than the eCVT set-up in the RX.

What an impressive supercar! But if you have to tell which car you have, then you must say that you have a Lexus ...

Afgelopen winter kregen we helaas geen sneeuw, maar toen de lente aanbrak begon het toch nog te sneeuwen. En dan wil ik maar één ding: naar buiten en foto's maken!

Unfortunately we didn't get any snow last winter, but when spring arrived it started to snow. And then I only want one thing: to go outside and take pictures!

Scale LEGO replica of the legendary Lexus LFA. This model is in scale 1:20 (12 wide) which is the same scale as used in Miniland of Legoland. I have tried my best to recreate the details of the real car as accurate as possible. By not having play details like opening doors and hood, more freedom was given to include details such as the relatively smoothly curving roof line and hood. The model is sturdy and is currently only possible to build in black due to the types of LEGO elements used.

This is a commissioned model.

I liked Lexus design more in the past, nowadays their designs look too aggressive.

On the left is a Generation 3 LS. On the right is a Second Generation GS model. Before Lexus began to use their “bobbin” “spindle” style of grille the front end styling was simple but dignified.

"In 2000 Lexus engineers began the journey that culminated in the production of an amazing supercar.

Three different processes of carbon fiber construction are used throughout the LFA's chassis. However, when it came to forming the A-pillar and roofline, there was no way to create such a complex three-dimensional shape. The solution: We invented a loom that weaves carbon fiber strands in 3-D.

Nearly every element of the LFA's suspension was conceived, tested or modified while testing at the Nürburgring. Ultimate refinement took place while competing in the endurance races held on that legendary course..."
