A Greek F-16 overbanks as it speeds through Vouraikos Gorge from North to South during a low level training sortie from its base at Larissa.
Aircraft: Elliniko Polemiki Aeroporia (Hellenic Air Force) Lockheed Martin F-16C Fighting Falcon 534.
Location: Vouraikos Gorge, Achaea, Greece.
Part of the Esjan mountain range, if I'm not mistaken.
This view was like a 5 minute walk from where I stayed in Reykjavik. Those people are spoiled.
Got the urge today to experiment with some HDR photography again. This is a 7 shot exposure (at .7 increments), hand-held.

Today is Nard's birthday! And so to celebrate, he, Jo and I ventured across the bridge to Quebec to enjoy some Thai food.
Afterwards, we all convened over at their place for presents and homemade ice cream cake! Jo did a great job with the cake, it was super tasty and I think we all agreed that it was a winner!
As an added bonus, with our powers combined (but mostly Nard), we fixed the focus issues with my camera! Hurray! Life can finally return to normal as we close the chapter on my most recent electronic malfunctions!

A female Thrips flavus found on gorse that had come down in a landslide onto the beach at Pett Level. Additional pictures below - note antennal segments 4&5 are half brown and half pale.

One of the highlights of our trip was making a stop at this reservoir for lunch and spotting this young owlet sitting in the crook of a tree at 'eye level'! At first I thought someone sat a fake owl there then it blinked. It was pretty warm and I think the second image down was from panting not from fear. The bottem image is when we tried to locate the nest and mamma as this youngster kept it's eyes on us.
When I got home I read that Great Horned Owls fledge before they can fly and strengthen their legs and claws by climbing trees.

What is fascinating is how sun light that travels through water and waves contorts and changes the human face, giving it a spooky effect. The images were shot seconds apart, in the open sea. On a human level, these type of shots are difficult and very challenging, especially for the model in the salty sea, and Kangsom deserves a huge round of applause. She is not a professional model - hugely impressive.

There was lots of lovely mist on the Somerset Levels as the sun rose this morning. This is one of the many views from Deerleap on the Mendip Hills.
Yet-to-open subway tunnel just south of Vaughan Metropolitan Centre Station on the Toronto-York-Spadina Subway Extension. Photo taken on a guided tour with TTC staff. Don't break into subway tunnels kids.

As this shop is built on a slope, the rear windows are almost at ground level with the ceiling being at about chest height from this side of the building.
From the inside it seems normal apart from the fact you are looking at peoples knees as they walk past outside.
(The shop assistant inside is stood on a step ladder).
