Taken for 'Saturday Self Challenge': "three, in black and white"
Level three of the local shopping centre car park.
A decaying building in Laoag, Ilocos Philippines, houses businesses, vendors and parking space for tricycles drivers waiting for customers. The fading San Miguel Beer signs are a testiment to the buildings neglect and unsafe structure.
NJ Transit ALP-45DP no. 4519 is seen leading Montclair-Boonton Line train 1003 under the Freemand Pkwy bridge in Glen Ridge, NJ, also crossing Toneys Brook at the same time. The railroad through here was built by the Newark and Bloomfield Railroad in 1856, later grade-separated and double-tracked by the Morris & Essex Railroad in 1912. Electrification came in 1930 - with the first train operated by Thomas Edison himself - and in 1945 full ownership of the line went to the Delaware, Lackawanna & Western.
Female Mallard. Drakes are male ducks.
Hens are female ducks. Ducklings are baby ducks. Airplanes in America collide with an average of 100 ducks a year (according to federal records). Mallard ducks, the most common wild ducks in the US, can fly nearly vertically out of the water reaching a height of about 30 feet before flying horizontally. IMG_0686

As the quarry developed it encompass 14 underground levels, numbered from the top downwards, with a total of 170 chambers from which the slate was won.
The Main buildings shown in the previous photos are on the hillside where level 9 comes out.

T007 heads out of Madison, passing under the Monona Terrace building on an outstanding Wisconsin autumn day.
Made my way to Grassy Ridge yesterday afternoon to see how spring is progressing. The rhododendrons are probably still 2 weeks away from blooming. That is when you can find blooms. It seems like most bushes at lower levels will not have blooms at all! I only saw 1 bloom where the color was peeking out.
The day was mostly overcast with a cloud hanging over Roan all day. Later in the evening, lower hanging clouds came rushing up from the NC side over Round Bald. It was a very cool thing. This photo was taken from Grassy Ridge looking onto Jane Bald & Round Bald.
Will try to post more later. I've been really busy this spring and have not been able to get out much, but love seeing everyones shots.
