It was close to noon. A little egret is flying over the lake. The clouds are rising, though they are not rain bearing. A tiny bee-eater bird is perched on to a branch, which often seen diving on to the lake close to the water level, catching some insects and fly back on to this branch.

Autumn on the Jitong Railway and QJs 6905 and 7040 are on the second level of the looping climb above Reshui on the Jinpeng section of the line. The line will soon pass through a curving tunnel to emerge directly behind and almost level with me. The line can be seen approaching Reshui and crossing the river on a long viaduct before swinging away along the first level.
