Seeing as it's Valentine's Day soon, I thought I'd get out my little confetti hearts and play around with them. :)

I've been wanting a camera with a longer lens so I can zoom in on distant objects. The 3X zoom of my A70 wasn't doing it for me anymore. After playing with an S5 at a brick-and-mortar big box retailer, I ordered everything online. The Canon PowerShot S5 IS, Case Logic TBC-4 case, and 4GB SanDisk SDHC card came from Amazon. The Hoya HMC UV filter, Hoya polarizer, 52mm adapter, lens cap, and lens hood came from Lensmate.

To be honest, it's really not my best pic. But I like the focus. It's so spontaneous and cute. It illustrates so well what I thought to myself when I found my little boy with my lenscap in his mouth !!

Can't hope that he will do the same again... so I keep that picture (for the moment !) :)

half frame camera with a 32mm f1.7 manually focusing lens. Focusing is from infinity to 2.5 feet. A selenium meter around the lens automatically sets the correct aperture and shutter speed in program fashion -- 1/30 at f1.7 to 1/800 at f 16.

This shot is a tad frustrating as I just can't get a good white balance on it. I used a white balance lenscap to get more exact readings for some of the tricky spots, but I just couldn't figure out a good setting for this one and the results from the cap weren't much help. I considered "cheating" with a b/w conversion but decided to leave it as is, as other than the color, I think it's reasonably good as far as shots of this dog go.

Testing the Panaleica 25 f/1.4.

Thin DoF, bokeh as smooth as a baby's ass.

Me like.

A tribute to Kazuo Tashima.

Just got the Canon EF 100mm f2.8L Macro IS USM lens just testing her out.

No adjustments made to this photo it looked good enough to me as is.

Hey Soul Sister by Train

Hey, hey

Your lipstick stains on the front lobe of my left side brains

I knew I wouldn't forget you, and so I went and let you blow my mind

Your sweet moonbeam, the smell of you in every single dream I dream

I knew when we collided, you're the one I have decided who's one of my kind

Hey soul sister, ain't the Mr. Mister on the radio, stereo, the way you move ain't fair, you know!

Hey soul sister, I don't want to miss a single thing you do...tonight

Hey, hey

Just in time, I'm so glad you have a one-track mind like me

You gave my life direction, a game show love connection we can't deny

I'm so obsessed, my heart is bound to beat right out my untrimmed chest

I believe in you, like a virgin, you're Madonna, and I'm always gonna wanna blow your mind

Hey soul sister, ain't that Mr. Mister on the radio, stereo, the way you move ain't fair, you know!

Hey soul sister, I don't want to miss a single thing you do...tonight

The way you can't cut a rug, watching you's the only drug I need

You're so gangsta, I'm so thug, you're the only one I'm dreaming of

You see, I can be myself now finally, in fact there's nothing I can't be

I want the world to see you be with me

Hey soul sister, ain't that Mr. Mister on the radio, stereo, the way you move ain't fair, you know!

Hey soul sister, I don't want to miss a single thing you do tonight,

Hey soul sister, I don't want to miss a single thing you do...tonight

Hey, hey

Tonight

Suitcases rock!

I wanted to get one for all my camera-stuff including my laptop and stuck with a PELI. I think the #1550. It has plenty of room for my 350D incl. handgrip, the 40D incl. handgrip, 18-55 mm, 55-200 mm, 50 mm, 20 mm, 10 mm Fisheye plus plenty of batteries, CF-Cards, the recharger for the batteries, filters etc. pp. And my 12" Thinkpad + power supply fit too.

Some other benefits: Its watertight, crushproof (google to find a video where some maniac drives over a PELI-Case with his Landrover Defender), dust proof, swims with ~20 kg weight in it and well: its somewhere near indestructible which is really nice to know.

See notes for what i put where into mine.

Laat 'm er niet op zitten.

Don't let it sit on it.

I am always dropping my lens caps....this time I was quick enough to catch it.

More 50mm fun. Shot under fluorescent lighting and came out looking cold. I raised the temp before converting it to jpeg from RAW. Outside of that there has been no post processing.
