The historic storm passed, leaving a beautiful snow covered landscape. In life storms pass after a while. If we look for it, we can see the beauty in that too.

OK, this scene looked a lot better in person. I would have liked to have used my DSLR and the lens I could have zoomed in on things more. I didn't have this gear with me, like most of the time anymore. The setting sun and distant horizon had an impressive, warm glow. It stood against the cool, dark clouds above.

It was the day before the official beginning of spring. Warm, windy conditions made for nice enough conditions. The overlooks at the park always provide great views.

The sun was out for a short time this week. More days of blue skies are coming soon.

May nobody's nasty beige-coloured paste-flavoured gravy ever unglue these potatoes, which are good the way they are.

I got out and had an enjoyable visit to one of my favorite regional museums. Its adjacent to these wetlands that I normally just drive by. This time I got a photo. That and I learned this is part of the Cold Brook Wildlife Management Area.

I got to Ithaca Falls with the limited time I had. In wanted to see the ice, was beyond impressed by how much there was. The water was still flowing well too, making it a fantastic visit.

The muddy water along with the ice formations show how stormy the winter has been. Last year there wasn't that much ice. This year the scenery is something else.

This was just a lucky shot... I was taking a macro of the few snow flakes that we had and here it came low and fast... By the time I changed my settings it was already in the tree... Oh well, take what you can get :-D
Street, Trees, Cars in a parking outside the Maybury Gala Club in Edinburgh, a famous casino with a floor area of 9,000 square feet and a large number of gaming machines.
It had been a long stretch without much snow. This wooded area caught my attention as I was driving by, as it has before. Inviting colors remain here throughout the year. The snow added to its charm on this day.

Following a public footpath through Top Park, Burton Lazars - the conditions were exceptionally muddy, with a touch of fog thrown in.
So I looked around a lot on Flickr today, and found a photographer, Aaron Reed, who does some great stuff and gets more dynamic range out of a single image than I can ever dream to...but I decided to try my hand at some high dynamic range shooting from one image, not HDR style...needless to say I didn't quite "get it" but at least I tried...
My commute is mostly through the countryside. On this morning there was just enough clearing to make the sky interesting. It wasn't cold out so it was nice to stop for a photo.
I was on the way to work and the sun was starting to show above the clouds on the horizon. It was a warm, mostly clear day from start to finish. Although it was a busy Monday, I was able to get the photo I wanted.

I used the wide-angle lens to have more fun on my hike. It was such a nice, cool day with a blue sky.

The town is so well preserved and kept, I was moved. This throwback to a crucial time in our history is amazing. I would have liked a shot from the opposite view but was in no mood for mountain climbing that day.

The sunset didn't seem like it was going to be very colorful. As I drove closer to home it became more and more impressive. The clouds became dramatic and an orange glow lit up the horizon.

The wind was so strong and gusty. I've never tried to take photos with winds that powerful. I only took a few steps from the car, which is typical for me. I got back with a photo or two, and that's all I needed.

It wasn't really expected and there wasn't much alert time for a strong solar storm. Spring is a good time of year to see Auroras and luckily the sky was clear here. I didn't stay out long in the cold but I got a few keepers like this.
