I suppose you could swim in the icy cold water, but you'll have to hike a couple hundred yards to the ice edge at Old Mission Lighthouse Beach.

Leafless trees in the afternoon against the sky on the side of a railway. Taken from inside the train. Trees are always beautiful, even with no leaves on...

View of the Washington Monument behind almost leafless trees.

A tranquil winter forest scene with a frozen lake, surrounded by bare trees. The soft light filtering through the branches adds a melancholic and mysterious atmosphere to the black-and-white photograph. Shot on Agfa APX 100 film with a Minolta Dynax 700si, the image is unedited, highlighting the timeless beauty of analog photography.

Thank you to everyone who took the time to view, comment, and fave my photo. It’s really appreciated.

As I walked back home from the Beacon the tall grasses in the foreground just demanded I pulled my camera out of its bag.

Thank you all for taking a close look at my images, its much appreciated!

I hope so... I want to believe it...

ENG: The second scene!

Yesterday afternoon I went for a walk again and enjoyed the sunset with my family at the Arkenberge Baggersee in Berlin Pankow (Buchholz).

Unfortunately, people also dispose of their bulky waste here. Just like this chair. I gave the wooden chair another chance and immortalized it photographically.

GER: Die zweite Szene!

This is the last of three murals painted by local artist and businessman by Kevin Hansen...

I have added the frame here in my post-processing.

Also, since I don't know if the artist has given it a title, I have titled it temporarily here. I will change it if and when I hear otherwise.

Kevin is a cobbler who owns and operates Molly's Cobbler Shop, which is just 10 blocks from our home.

He is also an accomplished artist, regularly producing original artwork, often hanging them outside on one of his shop walls. He often features themes of our city and state. I love his style and effective use of colors!

As I was passing his shop today, I parked, got out, and captured each of the three Christmas murals hanging on his outside wall. This is one of those paintings. I may put all three of them in a collage and post them.

Here are two links if you want to see more of Kevin's artistry. The first link is to his shop's website, and the second features more of his art projects :)

I took several pictures of the leafless trees, but I couldn't keep my eyes off the twisty figures they created. I think these three belong together, and the sepia tones create the perfect background for them.

The autumn colors of the forest are highlighted by the low light of dawn that penetrates the tall beech trees, now almost bare, thus creating transparencies that would otherwise be unimaginable. All around a carpet of leaves makes the sounds muffled.

Photographed at 1/13 second to capture the movement of snow. Use maximum enlargement to see snow streaks past tree trunks.

An early April evening looking out over Lake Michigan and featuring a young, leafless tree...

I have passed this tree a thousand times before, but this time the colors and contrasts were just right and it caught my eye. I love the white bark on these Birch trees.

I edited and processed to taste and then gave it a color-coordinated frame to finish its presentation.

Enjoy :)
