The autumn colors of the forest are highlighted by the low light of dawn that penetrates the tall beech trees, now almost bare, thus creating transparencies that would otherwise be unimaginable. All around a carpet of leaves makes the sounds muffled.
Photographed at 1/13 second to capture the movement of snow. Use maximum enlargement to see snow streaks past tree trunks.
I have passed this tree a thousand times before, but this time the colors and contrasts were just right and it caught my eye. I love the white bark on these Birch trees.
I edited and processed to taste and then gave it a color-coordinated frame to finish its presentation.
Enjoy :)
ENG: The two lighthouses of Kap Arkona with the international order number C 1062 are located at Kap Arkona on the Wittow peninsula at the northern tip of the island of Rügen and is also a big tourist hotspot.
The smaller right tower is the older one and dates back to 1827, built in brick according to plans of the Prussian Oberbaudeputation. The design is attributed to Karl Friedrich Schinkel. The 22.45 m high tower has a height of fire of 66 m above zero and was taken out of service in April 1905. It is the second oldest lighthouse on the Baltic Sea coast after the Travemünde lighthouse. Today it houses a museum and a registry office.
The bigger left tower is from 1902 and was put into operation in 1905. It is 35 m high and has a height of fire of 75 m above zero. It is built of bricks and stands on an octagonal granite base. A small special feature is the publicly accessible viewing platform, which is about 28 metres high and accessible via 175 steps.

Boulder, Colorado. The light was special -- sunset light on the trees with a dark cloud as a backdrop.
A vibrant field of yellow wildflowers blankets the foreground leading up to a calm lake, flanked by leafless trees and a clear blue sky. The scene conveys a sense of tranquility and the arrival of spring with the fresh bloom.

A narrow road running through woods in upstate New York. The Hasselblad Stellar is actually a 1" sensor point-and-shoot camera, not a full-fledged Hasselblad. It is basically a Sony RX100 with a fancy grip and Hasselblad branding on it. A very good pocket camera. (explored)
Beautiful nature trail photographed in afternoon light, at Keoladeo Ghana National Park, Bharatpur (Rajasthan, India)
In the low light of the early morning, in the Simbruini mountains, the shadows of the giant beech trees lengthen on the foliage.

Aucun traitement spécial de la photo; l'effet rougeâtre est causé par la pollution lumineuse et les nuages.

A clump of leafless trees at Taal Chhapar Wildlife Sanctuary, Rajasthan, India, on a hazy and overcast morning
I wanted to take an easy walk to a waterfall. Enfield Falls at Robert H. Treman State Park worked out nicely. The water was flowing strongly and it was wasn't too cold out.

ENG: The first scene!
Yesterday afternoon I went for a walk again and enjoyed the sunset with my family at the Arkenberge Baggersee in Berlin Pankow (Buchholz).
Unfortunately, people also dispose of their bulky waste here. Just like this chair. I gave the wooden chair another chance and immortalized it photographically.
GER: Die erste Szene!

Taken when we were in Shropshire in January. The hill in the background is Titterstone Clee, which dominated the landscape in the part of south Shropshire where we stayed.
Near Ludlow, Shropshire, England.
The band of brighter, warm colored sky was more pronounced in real life. Finding a place at higher elevation and using more of a zoom lens would have been better.

"Moody Rural Winter Scene - Blue Texture" by Patti Deters. Here is another piece in my 'Moody Rural Winter Scene' series. This one is also photographed in northern Minnesota, near Detroit Lakes. The gently rolling hills are covered in snow and several texture overlays transform the winterscape from daytime to evening. The dim sun looks like a bright moon shining down on the frozen countryside below. The blue shades in the textures create the feeling of dusk or night. Tillman Hall, Clemson University, South Carolina. Tillman Hall is symbolic of Clemson. It is an old building (completed in 1892) and I'm not sure what it's used for now...When I was at Clemson I used to hear of pranks where people managed to get things up to the top of the tower: a horse, for example. My roomate said a friend of his managed to run a ribbon from the tower to Johnston Hall nearby (which is torn down now, I think). All that said, it was definitely sealed off when I went there so some of those stories might not be true....
Just a bit of compare and contrast. The dunes of Namibia's Namib-Naukluft National Park are a little like chameleons in their ability to alter their appearance, prompted by the time of day, the geological make-up of the sand, the weather and sky conditions and the individual quirks and settings of the photographer's equipment.
Winter: A dirge by Robert Burns
Verse Two
“The sweeping blast, the sky o’ercast,
The joyless winter day
Let others fear, to me more dear
Than all the pride of May:
The tempest’s howl, it soothes my soul,
My griefs it seems to join;
The leafless trees my fancy please,
Their fate resembles mine!"
