I met Janie Layers in Jerome, Arizona. She moved from near Seattle after so much rain became too much rain. She graduated in fine arts from the Evergreen State College. Janie came to Jerome in 1998 opened a "fresh visual horizon" that pushed her to capture images in clay.
She creates her beautiful work in The Old Jerome High School.

I've been wanting to try out something like this for a while now, but needed a suitable start image. I had fun playing with the layers, and am fairly happy with the result, will definitely try some more.

Celebrity hair transformations always end up shocking us, sometimes in a good, inspiring kind of way that makes us want to jump up and experiment with the same look. And other times, the transformation is so dramatically ridiculous that we just can’t shrug off those awful creeps every time we imagine our own hair like that.

Katy Perry’s insanely cool pixie haircut has undergone a razor sharp shortness, and we just can’t believe how someone can look so unbelievably sexy with such short hair! Seriously, is there anything this gorgeous woman can’t pull off? Except for throwing shade at Britney, no one can do that, uh-uh!
Kim K’s long and seek black layers have undergone a massive chop and now, the sexy bombshell is flaunting a razor sharp long lob with a sensual center-partition that allows her lob to artfully frame her face.
Kristen Stewart walked down the bold lane by shaving her head and dying it beach blonde to create an edgy punk hard look for the promotions of her upcoming film, Personal Shopper.

Demi Lovato ditched her sleek and long hair, which were hair extensions anyway, to get a dramatically tousled shoulder-grazing lob. We have to admit, the lob has added life to her hair, it looks so much more voluminous and her new vibe is so refreshingly energetic.
It appears that sleek bobs are trending super-hot on the fashion radar, and Kerry Washington is one of the celebs to hop on the bandwagon for a sleek and sharp look. She ditched her fringed layers for a just-below-the-chin bob that framed her cheekbones with subtle side-parted layers in the front.
The most edgy and stunning appearance at Alexander Wang’s fall’17 showcase did not come from the collection itself, but in fact, it was Kylie Jenner’s insanely drop dead dramatic shag that commanded all attention. The makeup empress ditched her long layers for a sharply razored shoulder-grazing bob with a dramatic full-fringe that covered up her long forehead. It’s a very dominating look and we must admit, Kylie pulled it off with a lot of glamour.

This view out an upstairs back window shows how the sun casts a red glow over the valley as it is setting behind the mountains. This picture has been retouched only to frame, otherwise it is the true vibrant colors I see!

Digital Photo Layer Collage - 90"x72"
The photo-layer collage is most definitely inspired by David Hockney. I study his photo-collage work often, but I also took in an equal part of inspiration from the work I do with my MacGyver Camera. I always wondered what the image could look like if the overlapping was controlled.
I am in love with the narrative this process creates and I want to get lost inside all the little nuances that are layered on top of each other.
One more from couple of weeks ago when I was in Manitoba, I will not say what it is, who came across something like this will know, who didn't it will remain a mystery.

Increasingly, I find that I think of my chalk board in terms of multiple layers of information. The center part is me writing a paragraph answering the question at the top, and the right hand side is the framework or rubric that I'm using to write this paragraph. The left (out of sight) is the special schedule for tomorrow), and above it is the date in Mayan, Chinese, and English.
Hi all, sorry I have been MIA for so long- moving house has completely got me out of my crafting groove!! We're pretty much all settled now so will be getting back to my blog and stamping up a storm very soon I hope!!
It was our friends' wedding this past Saturday and I was determined to find some time to make them a card. When I logged on to Hero Arts and looked up this month's contest I fell in love with Shari's cards she made in the technique video.
As you can see, I loved it so much I CASEd it :) I was short on time and not in that creative groove so I followed Shari's lead and just added a few personal touches with the butterflies and using the La Lettre in the background.
All stamps, except the butterflies are Hero Arts, and all inks my beloved Distress Inks (Stazon for the sentiment) :)
Had to get at least one entry in for the March contest amidst the craziness of moving, right?!

Day 2.
From Upper Barakka Gardens this time, looking back along the route of our walk. The Great Harbour now on the right, fort Ricasoli in the distance on the right.
One of the things I liked about Malta was the fusion. It looks a bit North Africa, a bit Italian, a bit British, with a dash of modern.
This worked with many different layers and a different blending mode on each. Almost looks like an old homestead in the west. Location Yellowstone National Park. Enjoy the vintage feeling.
This was an experiment. I can't decide if I love or hate this photo. Clearly it has built-in exposure issues that would challenge even a full featured camera. It may have been just a tad too much for the humble Hawkeye.
Layer Road - The former home of Colchester United F.C. Home of the U's from 1937 until 2008.
The final game at Layer Road was against Stoke City on the 26th April 2008. The U's lost 1-0 but it was a fantastic day.
Incidently the last time Colchester United ever won at Layer Road was on Saturday 5th April against local rivals Ipswich Town. Scott Vernon gaining legendary status by netting both goals in a 2-0 win.
