Large plz. It had been a while since I posted a sunset pic. I loved the layers of clouds

Layer Road - The former home of Colchester United F.C. Home of the U's from 1937 until 2008.

The final game at Layer Road was against Stoke City on the 26th April 2008. The U's lost 1-0 but it was a fantastic day.

Incidently the last time Colchester United ever won at Layer Road was on Saturday 5th April against local rivals Ipswich Town. Scott Vernon gaining legendary status by netting both goals in a 2-0 win.

(p.s. for those who have never visited.. The old stadium is further along the road.)

The leaves on the tree; made with several layers, they won't be easy to paint over either.

Shallow pool of salt in the foreground, open sea in the middle strip, the Moab mountains of Jordan and then the sky and clouds

Trying to create styles I came up with the idea of layering my outfit.

Texture upon texture. Everywhere you look.

Loved it.

Highway 550, New Mexico on way to Albuquerque from Farmington. A relatively nondescript drive with occasional reasons to pause and photograph something.

It is rare, these days, that I don't use textures on one of my images. I really enjoy the creativity and magic that can come with adding layer after layer of textures...especially when it takes an image off of the delete pile, as it were.

Here's another SOOC shot from a nature walk with my little guy.

Nature "gets" me. It understands layering and textures and sees the beauty in them, too... :)

The years have written

a scripture of time,

layers laid down

in the paint of life.

Made using Anna Maria's pattern, Lingering Layers Skirt in Handmade Beginnings. I'm not pregnant (right now) so I made regular cotton panels in front and back, but only put elastic in the back b/c I liked that it lays flat in the front (though it could use some stabilizer) and later I'll put in a stretchy panel. I could not, for the life of me, get the ruffle to hang properly so I made up my own variation on it. The fabric is a vintage print--I only had 1.5 yards (the pattern calls for 2) and managed to get all the pieces cut on the bias with some to spare!

Wish I had more pictures but I had to pack the skirt away while we're traveling.

A saga of shadows painted by light. Light everchanging and ever moving, dazzle hiding darkness, shadows arranged in layers..........

A U.S. Air Force fighter jet flies overhead as two Soldiers raise a signal tower for a Patriot missile system during a training exercise in October at Kadena Air Base in Japan. Protecting fires assets requires layered air and missile defense countermeasures that provide protection at multiple distances and against diverse threats. (U.S. Army photo by Capt. Here I've layered 3 pictures into one, so I can get different fire effects into one.

The thick rainforest jungle reaches out from the heavy rain and mist creating these great layers.

... and some blue sky above.

This layering effect of mountains was what I have always dreamt of capturing. The crisscrossing of the lines to meet at the valleys and the foreground and background perspective created by the mist make for an interesting effect.
