I originally bought this 126-LED LightPanel knockoff for video, but have discovered that it provides a nice constant light source for macro work as well.
Using a translucent plastic fabric conditioner lid to see whether the LED will be sufficient to create a glowing shape of some description.

385nm UV LEDs were coated in Ultra Blue phosphorescent pigment from GlowInc.com. The LED on the left was then coated in fluorescent red paint and the LED on the right was coated in fluorescent yellow paint.

The top spun almost 360 degrees during the exposure, but not quite. Since the exposure was 1/20 of a second, the top is spinning at almost 20 revolutions per second, or 1200 RPM. Fun with science!

It may not look like it but this is the same signal with the hand retrofitted with an LED module by Electrotechs. The module is designed to fit inside the existing reflector assembly and has a socket that mates with the back of the LED module. ODOT has had a love affair with this design for years and up until only last year, spec'd its pedestrian signals as incandescent. They would fit this module in the hand and leave the bulb in the man.
