The hardware that will light up the waves. On the left, the flexible strip of LED (light-emitting diode) lights, rolled around a spool. LEDs produce a cool light (we're talking temperature) and draw a very low amount of power. This means they're energy efficient, and won't produce heat that could damage the waves or the wall.

LED ( Light emitting diode ) lights pulse on and off at a rate of 60 pulses per second. Too fast for the human eye to catch. This is at peak pulse.
The same shutter speed and exposure was used for all of these pictures.
This masterclass was led by maker Helen Carnac, who introduced the process of applying enamel to metal resulting in participants making disk or badges. During the session Helen described the process of enamelling and its historical context. Through a series of short demonstrations participants were taken through the basic principles and methods of fusing vitreous enamel to metal, before trying the process themselves and creating a small panel or badge during the process.
Helen Carnac is an artist, maker and curator who lives and works in London. Setting up her studio in the early 1990‘s, Helen develops projects using design methodologies that are rooted in an acute awareness of physical location, place and working practices.

Calling on CA Senators: BLOCK ARMS to ISRAEL
Veterans Day 2024 - San Francisco
Led by veterans, hundreds of people representing labor, faith groups, immigrant Rights and outraged communities marched to Senator Alex Padilla and Senator Laphonza Butlers' offices, calling on them to STOP SENDING ARMS TO ISRAEL. STOP FUNDING GENOCIDE. Instead, support Senator Bernie Sanders' Joint Resolution to block $20 billion in U.S. arms to Israel which will be voted on this week or next, and invest in schools, homes and healthcare right here in California.
The march headed towards the senators' offices by way of the Palace Hotel, stopping to show support for the striking workers and to embrace the interconnectedness of their issues.
At Senator Padilla's office, faith leaders and others locked themselves together blocking entrances to the building, while people of all ages painted a giant street mural reading:
"SEN PADILLA + BUTLER
STOP ARMS for WAR CRIMES
FUND HOUSING, HEALTHCARE, EDUCATION"
