In many German cities, structural changes in the retail and catering sectors have led to a noticeable downward trend, manifested in a decline in the quality of life, vacant buildings, the rise of cheap chain stores, and other factors. This is also the case here in Alleestraße, the pedestrian zone of Remscheid, a medium-sized town in the Bergisches Land region (Düsseldorf administrative district).

The white-rumped shama is a small passerine bird of the family Muscicapidae. Native to densely vegetated habitats in the Indian subcontinent and Southeast Asia, its popularity as a cage-bird and songster has led to it being introduced elsewhere.

Taken last night when i noticed a field full of mist being lit up by an almost full moon and distant floodlights. i managed to position the lighting(moon/floodlights) behind the tree and stood in front of the tree and lit it up with my torch. my trainers got soaked in the long grass but it was worth it :)
A good friend of mine (thanks Richie Rich!!) found a complete but long dead dragonfly while ripping out a Vodafone shop in Salisbury last week and knowing my interest in macro photography kept it for me......this is the first chance I've had to finally have a play......so this is a tiny part of a wing..... I placed the dragonfly on a sheet of green tissue paper...which in turn was placed on top of the Makita LED torch, Olloclip macro @ 21x, tripod, remote, zoomed in on iPhone by 20%, then cropped (30%), healed, and subsequently battered......all in Snapseed on iPad Pro with Apple Pencil.
When you look closely at the image (esp. middle right) it's possible to see claw like protuberances, these are situated near the wing tip. I have no idea what purpose they serve (but my guess would be structural reinforcement?) but they are included in this article below (see small B&W photo marked (g)) :-
