Moving on down the main at North Grandview on the CPKC Pittsburg Sub is the Kansas City Southern Railway "Southern Belle" business train led by the classy FP9 A-B-A consist. It may have been said dozens of times before, but the Belle is one of the classiest and most beautiful streamlined passenger trains to grace the rails, and I'll never grown tired of seeing it.
Operating from Kansas City, MO to Amsterdam, MO and back, the train will wye at the power plant spur and return north to Knoche Yard. This trip is for KC Current, women's soccer team that is sponsored by CPKC and whose stadium is named after the railroad. 10/11/24.

(This is a night time spotting. Many varieties of Limacodid larvae fluoresce under a blacklight (ultraviolet), making them exceptionally easy to spot on nocturnal photography missions with a handheld UV torch. Once located, I switch to my lens-mounted LED ring light and flash for illumination.)

Mont Saint-Michel is close to the border of Brittany, which has led to Breton claims to the mount. Originally the Couesnon formed the border between the two duchies, and every so often the river would shift its bank, leading to ownership of the mount shifting between them. The river's bed has now been fixed and Mont Saint-Michel is now firmly in Norman hands. It is home to the unusual Benedictine Abbey and steepled church (built between the 11th and 16th centuries) which occupy most of the one-kilometer-diameter clump of rocks jutting out of the waters of the English Channel. The church is crowned by a gold leaf statue of St. Michael by Emmanuel Frémiet, reaching a height of 155 metres (510 feet) above the sea.

I started out taking the expected pics of Holly etc but noticed a Christmas light LED behind a 4" paperweight, so arranged a Red and Green LED and grabbed a few pics.

The weekend of the 7th and 8th May 2022 once again sees a suspension of Greater Anglia rail services between Waltham Cross and Hertford East/Stansted Airport, with replacement road transport provided for intending passengers.

Also running single unit on the south after 2BM9, 2BM4 passes through Maldon with a rather short train after a weekend shutdown on the North Coast. Seen here being led by NR18 in it's one-off Indian Pacific Livery variation.

The twilight tracks of LED light strings found by intentionally moving the camera during the half second exposure.
Denver & Rio Grande Western eastbound Rio Grande Zephyr with a D&RGW unit coal train operating in the same direction being led by a GP40-2 locomotive # 3096 along with two additional GP40-2 engines at a three track main line location in Utah, Summer 1980. The unit coal train is most likely operating on a branch line that will soon join the main line. Notice on the front porch steps of the lead GP40-2 locomotive that an employee is standing there, so this makes me believe that this is a branch line with a connecting switch to the main line that must be operated by the employee.
