#17 The silver chair
Well it only took three months (asbestos tile abatement was part of that), but the kitchen and dining room are redone after an unknown and obviously long-term ice maker water line leak. It's interesting how insurance covers things (they didn't pay for new cabinets but paid for the restoration company to take the old fronts off, build new boxes, and then attach the old fronts to the new box).
...the soul of the house is the kitchen. This abandoned house had a wood burning stove and oven made of clay. It had no chimney as you can see the traces of soot in the walls. The roof was almost gone, so dirt and even a green coat of mold was growing on top of the soot. It was a house with no soul.
