My first 10-day retreat at Amaravati Buddhist Monastery. This was beautifully led by Ajahn Candasiri.
Still in the Kitchen, but now looking in the other direction. looking through from the brighter warmer kitchen space to the cooler dimmer corridor space. This was part of my project work for Part 5 ("Extending the View") of the Open College of the Arts course: Painting 1; Starting to paint. Oil on primed paper, A2 size.

Under that window was the freezer.
The walls were pine panelled.
The floor was fake wooden parquet.
I am tired and scared.
Well it only took three months (asbestos tile abatement was part of that), but the kitchen and dining room are redone after an unknown and obviously long-term ice maker water line leak. It's interesting how insurance covers things (they didn't pay for new cabinets but paid for the restoration company to take the old fronts off, build new boxes, and then attach the old fronts to the new box).
