RE: Had troubles lighting the far room, so finally just went with some of the flash spill. Used lights in kitchen area, but I don't remember where. The two floors were different stain colors.
The Kitchen cabinets were created with the Bedford door style in Oak finished in Chestnut and in Maple finished in Buttercream with Bronze glaze.
The last few weeks we have been "in the process" of redoing our kitchen. Today it is finished! Well except for a few areas of grout that I have concerns about. It was not a "tear it out to the walls" redo since the cabinets and floor did not need to be replaced. The main problem was the old and tired wood-grain formica that I have hated since the day I first saw it.
The counters are now granite and the backspace is stone and granite tiles. We replaced the black oven unit and exhaust hood with stainless steel to match the other appliances in the kitchen and Jack repaired some molding and touched up the white paint on the cabinets.
As you see in the "before and after" photographs above it does not look too different but in person the difference is astounding. Now I have to get all the contents of the cabinets back in place.

Showed this North Scottsdale house a few weeks ago. It had been totally updated. The glass backsplash caught my eye. The rest of the house was beautiful, too.
This photo was taken on May 4th, about a week and a half before installation started. Both of us absolutely love the Arts & Crafts Period, so this kitchen just wasn't what we wanted. After lots of research, we had lots of ideas for our "new" kitchen. We contacted Paul Lloyd of The Master's Hand in Lancaster, PA. After explaining what we wanted, Paul was able to transform our ideas into the pictures that follow. To keep costs down, we decided to keep our existing cabinet and drawer boxes. We purchased the new hardware from Horton Brasses (via the web). We decided that we would do the painting . . .
