"Hatchet Pond is the largest body of water in the New Forest. Created in the 18th Century to provide power for an iron mill, the pond today provides valuable habitats for wildlife."

I don't recall what job this was, but I do remember the engineer jokingly saying we could take 'em for a spin. But, nonetheless, here's a 45 and straight GMD 40 carbody getting ready to take empties west. I would like to make that trailing 40 eventually...

Thanks for looking in! - Have a great day!

The station staff at Royston, Herts did a good job in sweeping the snow off Platform 1. It was most unusual to get such a heavy snowfall as early as November. The following month saw further snowfalls, and we seemed all-set for a long and cold winter, but after Christmas the remainder of the 1981/82 winter was mild.

Royston was a busy interchange station during this era. The Great Northern electrification programme only took the wires as far as Royston, and through trains from Kings Cross to Cambridge ceased after 1977. Passengers were required to transfer from the Class 312 EMUs that had been introduced for these outer suburban services to complete their Cambridge journey on a DMU shuttle. This arrangement continued until the Royston-Cambridge section was belatedly electrified in 1987.

Better late than never. Cars Land is WDI at its finest, they did such an amazing job bringing Radiator Springs to life. And after having an extended absence from Disneyland Resort for a few years, I have been fortunate to see it now 3 times this year.

But I have not been able to get an empty shot of Flo's. Original plans for Tuesday night were for Bill McIntosh and I to head to Joshua Tree. But my gangly football knee was acting up and I opted to stay closer to my hotel. Disneyland is a heck of a Plan B. And I was finally able to get the pano of Flo's.
