Installation "La Bouche du Roi" by artist Romuald Hazoumé from Benin. Much of the piece is made up of the tops of plastic petrol jerrycans -- an everyday item in modern Benin. Although each one looks much like another, a closer look shows that they have all been personalised by the artist or by their previous owner -- each one is individual. The red feathers on this one link to one of Benin's gods.

red tape was an installation i set up as part of cms day50 art exhibition. the theme was 'christ plays in 10 000 places'. this was the blurb that went with it...
Red Tape
Mission is a border crossing experience whether geographical or cultural - into new areas, risky spaces, out of the comfort zones onto other peoples turf. In those spaces we are likely to be guests rather than hosts. Someone else is throwing the parties. When we make that journey invariably Christ is already there ahead of us.
Red tape (that great symbol of heavy handed control and stifling beaurocracy seemingly so much loved by religious institutions) explores how easy it is to forget this.
Do we cross borders or create them?
Whilst Christ plays in ten thousand places the church time and again has done her best to keep him wrapped in red tape.

The U.S. Army Installation Management Command and Army Environmental Command employees traded in business casual clothes for gardening gloves and jeans and got to work polishing their newest “installation,” John James Park in San Antonio, Texas.
Volunteers from the two commands and the city of San Antonio gathered at the sprawling green haven to celebrate Earth Day and IMCOM’s official adoption of the 90-acre park, marked by a tree dedication. Distinguished guests included the Hon. Katherine Hammack, assistant secretary of the Army for installations, energy and environment; Lt. Gen. Rick Lynch, commanding general of IMCOM; Col. Scott Kimmel, commander of USAEC; Ray Lopez, San Antonio councilman and mayor pro-tem; and representatives from the San Antonio parks and recreation department.
The park includes a playground, picnic area, softball and soccer fields, fitness equipment and a half mile of hard and soft trails.

CEA Project Logistics were contracted for the transportation, assembly and installation of a metal press for a Metal Stamping and Assembly Factory in Rayong province, Thailand.
CEA received a combination of containerized and flat rack OOG cargo to their Cargo Consolidation Facility in Laem Chabang. Each container was unloaded and unstuffed. Several sections of the main bed and tie-rod uprights were assembled by CEA before transportation.
Upon arrival at the factory, the remaining press parts and sections were unloaded and assembled. As several sections were of considerable size and weight CEA erected a temporary gantry crane to assist in installation. The crane was placed over a pre-constructed pit which would house the completed press. The press bed section was lifted and placed into position and aligned on the pit floor.
Other sections were carefully lifted and moved into place with the crown section being installed last. Tie rods and bolts were tightened to complete the assembly of the major sections. The gantry crane was removed to allow a small mobile crane and Elevated Work Platform to install the smaller parts. Upon the project completion, both CEA and the client were very happy with the efficiency and expertise of the installation.

A small area of the room is sectioned off with tables. Along these tables are what appear to be origami in many different forms (such as stars, chains, etc.). Each piece/grouping of origami has a tag beside it with a book title and author- implying that each piece of origami is a book. The book title is reflected in the style of the origami.
The tiles are hauled up to the platform at the top of three storey scaffolding. They are then laid out on the platform as they will be on the wall. In sets of five vertical lines the cement is applied to the wall and the tiles carefully pressed into place. Once this is completed the grouting between each tile is applied.
