Day 8 - I made it hrough the week :)
All I have to do now is another 357 days and 357 different ideas. No problemo!
Started proper plans for my trip to india today too. I now know how expensive it will be. I am going to have to get used to living on trains too! but it will be totally worth it. India, nepal, cambodia, vietnam and thailand. If i dont get good pictures from that I am taking out my eye!
On Saturday 29 January 2011, a number North-South freight services were diverted to both Sydney's East Hills and Goods Lines and late in the afternoon, this Pacific National service was seen climbing through Hurlestone Park.
The challenge was to take something from inside to the outside. The obvious was to take an object from in the house and photograph outside. I really liked the case shadow of this glass perfume flask on the concrete. The image reminds me of a UFO and outer space. Textures are my own.
Started to panel out the inner arch, need to mould up another panel for the bit that goes towards the nose. Just bonded in situ with epoxy/flox, once it has all gone off and been cleaned up I will put a small amount of 2x2 twill along the joints just to finish it off. Will be on with the other door very soon.
I also made a steel plate with welded captive nuts and bonded this behind the D shaped panel so I will be able to remove the door hinge plate if needed at a later date as there is no access to the nuts unless I cut a hole or two!!

I tried to get these parts straight enough to bolt parts to but in the end there was no other option but to replace them.
Gate to the Inner Garden.
I haven't posted photos for a while due to a debilitating lower back injury. I think I pulled my lower back muscles one week ago doing the most mundane tasks: pulling weeds out of the backyard or perhaps I over did my shoulder and back exercise. I'm seeing doctors and hope to recover fully in a month. Well, that's the wish.
Our uncles and aunts took us to Yuyuan Garden, one of Shanghai's major tourist attractions. Yuyuan Garden was originally built in the mid-1550s as the home of a wealthy family. In the 19th century it suffered major damages and was only restored in the 1950s and 1960s.
Day 13 of Run With Scissors Challenge - a literary figure or someone who inspires you. My pick was Joan of Arc. When I was a child, I read a book about her and was so inspired by her conviction, faith, and belief in the truth of her visions. To be a visionary, you must believe in and honor your visions!
I used Balzer Designs stencils, book pages, stamps and other ephemera plus acrylic paint, gel pens, and china markers.
