Our Lilies make great photo subjects because of their colour, size, and lines that they contain.

Roger Taney is an historic ship. The cutter was attacked by the Japanese during their bombing of Peal Harbor, and fired its anti-aircraft weapon at the enemy throughout the battle. Taney fought its way through World War II, served as a Navy flagship in the Pacific campaign, and was in commission until the 1980s.
During the 1950s, Revell, Inc., a California-based manufacturer of plastic model kits, made a beautiful kit of USCGC "Roger Taney". I built one, and remember it fondly. That's probably why I've always liked this ship.
It's interesting, to me at least, to note that within approximately 3 miles of one another in Baltimore's harbor are docked 2 ships of which Revell made model kits in the 1950s. Taney is one of them; the other is N/S Savannah, the world's first nuclear-powered merchant ship. I photographed both during this trip, and the photo of Savannah is also posted on Flickr. It's like a hobby shop come to life!

They will be like trees,
that stay healthy and fruitful,
even when they are old.
And they will say about you,
"The LORD always does right!
God is our mighty rock."

A view from the inner courtyard of the Palazzo Publico - Siena, Tuscany. Dating back to the turn of the 14th Century, this building housed the main governement offices at the time.
Notes: Some geometry correction, curves adjusment and USM sharpening.
The inner yoke, more or less carefully pinned to line up with the outer yoke.
If you aren't liking the way your inner yoke looks at this stage, consider cutting a new one from a contrast fabric. My one suggestion is to keep it on the straight-of-grain, not on the bias as we did for the outer yoke.

I came across this little hidden cafe in Valencia's El Carmen area... It's hard to say what exactly has caught my eye here... I guess it was everything:) A lot of times I shoot on an impulse when I simply like what I see and it's not easy to describe why and what I like;)
Sometimes when a response is needed,
There's no need for a response.
Child & The Adult.
Emotions are not logical.
Rationing fear, you cannot begin to understand.
Within i will have to deny.
Everytime you glance at me, I will glance back at you.
The extraordinary, this is the course.
Discourse - ofcourse.
Cry. Sleep. Sing.
Laugh.
When will it stop, out of pity.
Out of grace.
Why bother, we know who will win.
In the end.

The photo is taken from inside the "Campanile" a 37 m high glasstower, part of the new city-hall of Innsbruck ( designed by Dominique Perrault). The southern glass wall is printed with the tubes, an artwork of Peter Kogler.
Now wait a minute. The inner lid is shiny on the protected inside surface, and appears lighter. A lighter color inside a lid does not guarantee a stein is old or original. But this is a good sign that it may be original.
Johannesburg Inner City is supposedly a dangerous place. I am not sure why, but I did conform with the directions of my black driver who took me around the place and kept the car windows closed. We didn't stop at all and all pictures taken within the Inner City limits were taken through the closed window of a car on the move.
I must say, though, I didn't see anything dangerous outside. I saw ruins of buildings and even some ruins of people, I saw poor people going here and there, but I did not feel threatened... It was a Sunday morning, lots of people were on the streets and on the sidewalks, but I saw no strange transaction, no drugs changing hands, no weapons flashed.
I may be wrong but I saw nothing that might have put my life at risk, if at some point I chose to get out of the car and take a walk around this place, as I so very much wanted to do!

The president of Arbroath Inner Wheel, Val Nicol, handed over four cheques at Hotel Seaforth in March, 1996: Ark Group Arbroath, £100; Scottish Children's Hospice, Kinross, £250; Cancer Relief Macmillan Fund, Arbroath, £350; and WRVS, £100. The seated group comprises, from left - Christine Anderson, vice-president; Ann Auld, Hospice; Cath Young, treasurer; Sandra Cooper, WRVS; Mrs Nicol, Betty Edwards, Macmillan; and Brian Hird, Ark. [We have amended the order of those named as it was clearly wrong on the sheet we had - hopefully we have got it right.]
The ship seen here was launched in 1919 at George Brown and Company's yard in Greenock as naval trawler SS Samuel Green. She saw a change of use almost immediately to a private yacht, named Ocean Rover. In 1949 she became known as Ocean Mist and later spent some years operating on the Caledonian Canal.
