Now, little glass ornaments aren't usually my 'thing", but this one is a bit special. It was a gift many years ago, and is a superb example of skilled glass blowing technique. Made by Roberto Niederer, the Swiss glass artisan. Just how did he place one perfect little pig inside another and another, all within 11 cms. from snout to curly tail? Glass technique aside, they came out of the cupboard for camera technique. ;-)
Inner Space by John O'Connor. There's an exhibition of outdoor sculptures in Inner Temple Gardens at the moment. I recommend a lunchtime visit if you work close enough.
After seeing the prehistoric size catfish and saying to our guide that I wished the water were clear enough for me to see everything down there and him laughing quite heartily at me and saying "if you could see everything down there you wouldn't go NEAR that water", I decided to forgo the inner tube ride. Dag went and he only got his toes nibbled a couple of times.

The Inner German Border near Braunlage in May 1977. It was at this point where I distinctly heard a 2-10-2 tank working extremely hard on the climb away from Sorge towards Elend - so near yet so far at the time! I never believed at this time that I would have so many happy visits later in life to the Harz region on the other side of this fence.

One of the tourist attraction in Hohhot, capital city of Inner Mongolia is the Old General's office. In order to strengthen the northwestern frontier defense, the town was built up in about 2.5 kilometers northeast of the old town of Hohhot and served as a fort where the Eight Banner's officers and soldiers stationed there. The construction of the town began in the thirteenth year of Yongzheng Age (1735), and was completed in the fourth year of Qianlong Age (1739). It was named Suiyuancheng.

I tried to get these parts straight enough to bolt parts to but in the end there was no other option but to replace them.

My roommate, who was also an EAP participant from UC Berkeley, and I watched the sunrise in Inner Mongolia. The beautiful view was worth waking up at 4:30 in the morning. (Both my roommate and I are wearing Cal gears!)

While in California The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge visited Inner-City Arts, an organization that uses arts and performances to give inner city children an oasis of calm, fun and learning. While there The Duke and Duchess met with children participating in the art programmes.

Johannesburg Inner City is supposedly a dangerous place. I am not sure why, but I did conform with the directions of my black driver who took me around the place and kept the car windows closed. We didn't stop at all and all pictures taken within the Inner City limits were taken through the closed window of a car on the move.
I must say, though, I didn't see anything dangerous outside. I saw ruins of buildings and even some ruins of people, I saw poor people going here and there, but I did not feel threatened... It was a Sunday morning, lots of people were on the streets and on the sidewalks, but I saw no strange transaction, no drugs changing hands, no weapons flashed.
I may be wrong but I saw nothing that might have put my life at risk, if at some point I chose to get out of the car and take a walk around this place, as I so very much wanted to do!
