I took this photo about a year ago. Here is the original version. I like this version much better. I took something today with my new lens in my backyard, I did not like it enough to post it. It's hard taking photos of myself with that lens since it's only manual focus, but, I'll get used to it. I still love that lens.

Happy Thanksgiving! :D

[136/365] Christmas Day.

[33/52]

Dear Flickr,

I have anticipated this day for a long time. Well, one year exactly. Christmas to be is a day of putting aside all of your hurt , and just living in the moment. Giving what you can, and appreciating what you get in return. Appreciating the time you have with your family.

I want to take a quick moment of your day to thank you all, and I mean each and every one of you individually, for all of the support you've given me this year.

When I joined flickr, I never thought I'd be able to make beautiful friends, yet alone expand my knowledge and love for photography the way that I have.

Today I was inspired by Rachael. Whose photos never fail to leave me speechless.

And daily, so many of you inspire me.

Make me WANT to keep shooting photos.

I hope you all have an absolutely beautiful day, whether you believe in Christmas or not.

Put everything aside, put your camera down for a day, and enjoy your family.

Enjoy your friends.

Enjoy the food.

Enjoy the fact that you, and me, and all the rest of us, are blessed with the chance TO celebrate christmas.

Love,

Kiara

Farne Islands, Northumberland

This view looks east over the world-famous Harbour Bridge into what I would call the inner harbour beyond.

Visible islands include Goat Island just beyond the bridge and in the far distance Cockatoo, Spectacle and Snapper Islands with the Parramatta river beyond them.

Beyond the left (southern) bridge piers can be seen the old container terminal and the Sydney Harbour Control Tower. They are now long-gone as part of the major Barangaroo redevelopment project which has gentrified that part of the harbour.

The unusual geography is the result of river valleys being flooded by a rise in sea levels between 18,000 and 6,000 years ago. Today nine rivers and over 100 creeks flow into the harbour basin.

Taken from aboard a floatplane - this was the furthest east that we went, although I saw other floatplanes flying much further to the east.

365 Project - Day 40

This photo has a deep personal and emotional meaning in it for me. I often lack in confidence in myself, in my talents, in my choices in what to do with my life.

But then there's this moment, where I see my flaws, and I love myself anyways. These are the moments where my muse finds me, the moments of my inner glow.

Thank you flickr members, all who view. Your comments, support, and appreciation all encourage me, and I love you all to pieces for it!

Passing an open door in the old narrow lane I caught this very dark passage and the reflection of the light in the ceiling. The neighbourhood is full of life and colour with laundry on the dry, old ladies washing vegetables and chatting, small markets taking up more than half of the very narrow lane and the comings and goings of the day where people share their lives and there cannot be any secrets.

An old lady living here came through with a little white dog and wondered what I saw in this shabby place. I told her - life and beauty.

Pink Water Lily with the sun shining on the stamens. I'm a bit behind, had to get away from the telly news yesterday.
