365 Project - Day 40
This photo has a deep personal and emotional meaning in it for me. I often lack in confidence in myself, in my talents, in my choices in what to do with my life.
But then there's this moment, where I see my flaws, and I love myself anyways. These are the moments where my muse finds me, the moments of my inner glow.
Thank you flickr members, all who view. Your comments, support, and appreciation all encourage me, and I love you all to pieces for it!
Self Shot.
Passing an open door in the old narrow lane I caught this very dark passage and the reflection of the light in the ceiling. The neighbourhood is full of life and colour with laundry on the dry, old ladies washing vegetables and chatting, small markets taking up more than half of the very narrow lane and the comings and goings of the day where people share their lives and there cannot be any secrets.
An old lady living here came through with a little white dog and wondered what I saw in this shabby place. I told her - life and beauty.

“From all restrictions of the world I personally love self-restriction. Nothing gives me such a pleasure as my own prohibition to please my own needs. The constant feeling that I owe something to somebody proliferates calmness in me” said Mr. Limitation and instantly closed the door to his cubby.

Experimenting with longer exposures and capturing lighting. Must get a tripod that will work on the A75 (the big one Susy gave me won't fit)! This was taken with the camera (and me) sitting on the walkway by the Wax Museum. I am not a morning person, but the wind calmed from last night and I awoke with an urge to get outside and take morning pictures.

Ohhh look at you with your big muscles and chest. Now get off with you and get me some takeaway sand eels.

Fratercula arctica
Inner Farne, Northumberland UK
Though often known as a sea parrot, locally in Northumberland, the bird is known as a 'Tommy noddy'. It is a member of the auk family, alongside guillemots and razorbills .
Each year, puffins return to the Farnes to breed. This is generally between April and late July with the peak breeding season being in May and June. For the remainder of the year, the birds fly out to sea, overwintering on the water, only returning to land each year for a short window to breed and raise their young.
At the last count in 2013 there were nearly 40,000 breeding pairs recorded on the Farne Islands.Early indications for the quinquennial count this year are that there may well be a significant decline.
The Farne Islands are a National Trust managed property.

“If the mind is to emerge unscathed from this relentless struggle with the unforeseen, two qualities are indispensable: first, an intellect that, even in the darkest hour, retains some glimmerings of the inner light which leads to the truth; and second, the courage to follow this light wherever it may lead.”
Karl von Clausewitz
This is from an email I was sent yesterday Inner Peace: This is so true... If you can start the day without caffeine, If you can always be cheerful, ignoring aches and pains, If you can resist complaining and boring people with your troubles, If you can eat the same food every day and be grateful for it, If you can understand when your loved ones are too busy to give you any time, If you can take criticism and blame without resentment , If you can conquer tension without medical help, If you can relax without liquor, If you can sleep without the aid of drugs, ......Then You Are Probably .. The Family Dog!
