Stornoway RNLB Tom Sanderson, berthed on a calm night at Stornoway Inner Harbour.
Over the past 20 years, the RNLB Tom Sanderson lifeboat has launched over 400 times on service and assisted in saving numerous lives.
The Severn class lifeboat arrived in Lewis on 27 January 1999, under escort of the Sir Max Aitken II, the Arun class lifeboat who had been based in the port for the preceding 17 years.
Within 25 minutes, the new lifeboat was out on shout, responding to a Mayday from fishing vessel MFV Defiance in the Minch.
The Sir Max Aitken II lifeboat steamed at full speed to the sinking vessel, approximately 20 nautical miles south east from Stornoway.
The new lifeboat was delayed in setting off, having to disembark passengers at the quayside before heading to the scene at 25 knots.
Her sheer capability and advantages were clearly evident as the Severn class craft overtook the Max Aitken just outside the harbour, arriving at the casualty 35 minutes before her.
The new lifeboat had sent a salvage pump onto the Defiance, stemming the rate of flow of water, resulting in saving vessel and crew.
Since then, the Tom Sanderson has undergone major overhauls and upgrades to keep her in service for many years to come.
The last few weeks have been a lot of swirling thoughts and emotions. Traveling back to Canada from the UK and the stress of that, the 2 weeks quarantine kind of left me feeling uninspired. But having been back in the mountains for a week, breathing the clean air and the seeing the stars has sort of given me back a bit of inner freedom of thought.
.
I've started to work on new images, thought about where I want my work to go and what I want it to say and have enjoyed the process of slowly getting back into rather than diving headfirst. For me, being in nature always feels like freedom and let's my mind be free.

My inner self is far more difficult to discern."

My brain is dead this morning and I can't recall the flower's name though I have them planted. Thanks Thelma, I knew someone would remind me that it is alstromeria.
Have a fantastic day my friends!

It has been a rough week.
Had Thousands of Dollars of equipment stolen.
Spent more money than I wanted to on a trip that was supposed to be inexpensive and fun.
-It turned out to be the most expensive trip I have ever been on; and for nothing!
Managed to get in an argument with pretty much everyone who is close to me.
From that I chose a couple paths that I'm not even sure were the right ones to take. But I feel in my heart that one day they will understand why I did what I did.

No matter what you do, you really can't please everyone; and sometimes that really hurts inside.
It may not look like it on the outside, but this is how I feel on the inside.
I keep my feelings pretty well guarded and don't show much to the world in terms of emotion.
One day I will most likely spill my guts in a memoir….then everyone will know the true me.

Another addition to the series. While this one has depth, strangely it lacks a sense of height -- it is a downward slope to the floor below.

Another eye shot from my collection.
A shot I have always wanted to get, K1 62005, the only engine in UK that could have run on the Mallaig extension in BR days comes round the corner from Arisaig at Kinloid.
The distintive islands in the background are Rum and Eigg, part of the inner hebrides.
Many thanks to Driver John Hunt for making this moment by providing extra steam on this downhill section by prior agreement, today has been a great day.
Another pic of this incredible place, this time with the HDR effect more pronounced.
I know some of you will hate the HDR effect, but I like it!

Finding inner peace, achieving peace of mind, is a major life accomplishment—and even though it can be hard to feel peaceful, anyone can work toward a life of harmony, to seek a calm spirit.
I think this is an eastern tailed blue. He very obligingly opened up his beautiful self for me to see.
