This is a shot across Millwall Inner Dock towards Canary Wharf taken recently on the way to work. This is the forst post in a little while, I've been busy experimenting with other techniques and also preparing for a portfolio review which was great and very enlightening and has provided me with ideas on my direction and a way forward too.
This is two shots both vertically corrected and then stitched together as a vertorama.

The Mosaic Montage Monday theme this week is Gradients. This montage is of two images of spiders webs taken yesterday morning on a lovely little early morning jaunt to Strath Creek,
I have used radial gradients to lighten the inner part of both webs and darken the outer, and also to give the inside parts of the gradients a sepia tinge.

Last stop of our last night in Manchester and getting there and back was more than a little frightening. It's interesting how the whole feeling of a place can change when you go just slightly too far from the centre. Passing the up-and-coming area from the last shot and crossing the A57, where was a sudden change. The area was darker and much dingier, with bars over windows and boarded up buildings. Underpasses contained groups of violent-looking people... It all built up to a feeling of dread that didn't mix with my anxiety at all.
I can't see myself venturing into Hulme again.
You see those trees in the middle, there? THEY WEREN'T ON GOOGLE MAPS WHEN I WAS PLANNING MY PHOTOGRAPHY STOPS. Argggh. The straight-on shot that I wanted to get just couldn't be done without them getting in the way.

While on a roadtrip around southern Sweden, I was given a Canonet 28 by a friend we were visiting, that she had just inherited. It was in perfect condition so I immediately loaded up a roll of Ektar and started shooting.
Despite being a low-end consumer model, it's a solid little camera with a sharp lens that I actually quite enjoyed using.
