Injector Rubbers replacement 24-05-2014
Vandaag de rubbers van mn injectors/injectoren vervangen, had al een tijd geleden gezien dat de omgeving rondom de injectoren vies was. Dat kan duiden op kleine lekkage van brandstof door versleten rubbers.
Nieuwe rubbers besteld en vandaag aan het werk gegaan. Was ongeveer een uurtje werk. De cups zijn nog in goede staat, dus die worden nog niet vervangen.

It should really say "Frequently remove sieve and clean." (Otherwise how many times over what period should you clean the sieve once it's been removed?) No 73156's Davies & Metcalfe 'Class K' exhaust injector.
I love injectors. :-) Especially when they work well.

Injector pump trial fit.
After cleaning and priming the injector pump, I loosely bolted it up to sort out the injector pipes.
I’m missing a clamp for numbers 1&2 and may have to make a new one.
It’s all ready to be sprayed up blue at the weekend.
Some people prefer these pumps to be self colour alloy but, they were always painted blue from the factory.

The injectors were sent off to Marren Fuel Injection for their checkup, cleaning and refurbishment. 8mm deep socket and extension used to start the bolts to hold the injector in place. One was found to be operating outside of tolerance which likely explains the ontrack problem. Racing it this weekend and it appears ready to go.

All fuel and timing are controlled by a do-it-yourself electronic fuel injection system; MegaSquirt II v3.0. My brother Tom and I built this engine to our exact specifications and we tune it with a laptop computer while driving down the road. It works like a champ.
