Technique: I injected artificial nectar into a Lavender flower and when the honeybee started feeding on it I grabbed onto the stem of the lavender flower with my left hand, and then rested the lens on that same hand to help keep the scene steady. Then we played a game where I'd frame and compose the scene only for her to move at the last second ;)
Tech Specs: Canon 80D (F11, 1/250, ISO 200 with highlight tone priority) + a Canon MP-E 65mm macro lens (over 2x) + a diffused MT-24EX (both flash heads on the Canon flash mount, E-TTL metering with -1 1/3 FEC, second curtain sync). This is a single, uncropped, frame taken hand held. Image taken in 2016 but I'm just now getting around to processing it.
Do not worry, this is black current sirop on my dirty hands, HMM!
A picture is worth a thousand words, this one for the many people addicted to drugs and suffering as they poisoned themselves day after day.

injecting a little more color into the stream, I went back and reworked this shot a bit larger and hopefully crisper...from 2005, before I knew about "foregrounds" :-)
Hand injected. Crated for extra protection. Available at Brickmania in very limited quantities at the moment.
• 4 different proto molds needed too produce them.
• Body is triple overmolded in 100% ABS plastic - gunmetal over brown over brass ABS.
• Ammo cells are trans blue ABS, injected over brass ABS, and are snug, but removable (with a little force).
Dyed orchid roots.
Professional growers inject dye into the stems of white orchids to create colours not found in Nature.
The dye leaves a tell tale stain on the stems and roots.
This orchid had striking multi-coloured flowers.
The flowers died back naturally and now, a few months later new shoots are appearing.
It is likely to revert to its original colour now, so I will be very curious to see what appears.

While changing the plastic in the injector, I run "transition" shots.
Sometimes. the colors happen to mix perfectly.
As we fast approach Christmas we see all the usual signs such as Christmas trees, decorations, Santa in shopping centres and let’s not forget the old favourite, candy cane.
Like everything attached to Christmas even the humble candy cane has its origin which dates back to about 1670 when the choirmaster at the Cologne Cathedral disapproved of the noisy children who continually caused a noisy disruption during the Living Creche tradition of Christmas Eve.
So to alleviate the problem he engaged the services of a local candy maker for some ‘sugar sticks’ to assist ease the noise.
The ‘sugar sticks’ are today known as candy canes.
At this year’s Camden Christmas Festival candy canes were evident but in the form of two walking talking candy canes who skilfully manoeuvred their away among the crowds by posing for photos and injecting their own special style to the event.
Unlike their predecessor these candy canes welcomed noisy children as well as noisy adults.

Our poor little boy’s arthritis is getting worse. The BOF sent me a link from the UK to look into an injectable treatment. Problem is that we don’t have that treatment available here in the states. He’s not that old considering the breed can live in their 20’s. He’s currently on Carprofen, (canine ibuprofen) and it’s somewhat effective for a little while. So long as he’s laying down, you would never know. I’m not sure how long he will be able to get around and I don’t intend to let him suffer. We talked about getting him a strong papoose to carry him around with for the time being.

I decided to inject a bit of color into my stream after posting black and whites for the past few days. This is an image I took back in the Spring on a hike I did with my friend Tom up Ruckel Creek to the waterfalls there. My pinhole at the time was loaded with 100 speed film, so in the shady glen of the falls, my exposures were all about four minutes long. This can be a bit of an inconvenience, as it not only ties up my camera, but my tripod too. But I have also found that it is a blessing in disguise. When you are forced into such long exposures, it sure makes you put some thought into how you are going to invest that time. You do not haphazardly shoot willy-nilly! As I have also said before, it is nice to be able to set my camera up for such long exposures, put everything else down, and just wander and roam for a few minutes without having to think about photography at all. One of the hidden benefits of being a pinhole photographer. ;-)
On a side note, I was looking at this and thinking my composition could have been a bit better, even though, granted, I am shooting a camera without a viewfinder and going just by best judgment. The composition is not bad, I just wish I had not cut off the rock on the left side. Generally speaking, when composing an image, try to keep attention-drawing elements from intersecting the edge of your photo. They will draw the eye to them, and then right out of the frame. But this is just a minor point against this photo for me, I still like it quite a bit. It is quiet, just like the spot where I photographed it.

I Hope your New Year was off to a good start! :)
Unfortunately, I feel run down for weeks now and have to get me out of this mood first. I will stop my flickr activity for that reason. (Perhaps there will be some exceptions - Heaven knows...)
Have fun! :)

Off to be Covid-19 immunised today. It took a while as there were a lot of people queueing to go through the cattle sheds. The irony! I feel much better now that the nanobots are working with the 5G signal.

Bane - Bane
Banes father attempted to assassinate Ra' Al Ghul due to him leading a following of assassins which he was going to use as a personal army. The assassination attempt failed and the father and his beloved wife (pregnant at the time) were exiled to an underground prison on an abandoned island which ran illegal experimentation on the prisoners.
After a few months of imprisonment the mother died giving birth to Bane and the father continued to care for Bane. When there was a severe food shortage in the prison the father protected Bane from being cannibalised, he sacrificed himself to save Bane as long as his child's survival was ensured by a fellow prisoner who then continued to look after Bane until he was old enough to look after himself. Bane grew up in the harsh prison and began exploring it, murder became his friend and cruelty became his ally. Bane worked out everyday almost all day and became one of the most notorious prisoners, this caught the attention of the guards who began to fear him. When a revolution in the prison occurred (led by Bane) he was punished harshly by being sentenced to death. To the guards this meant being forced into the "Venom Procedure" which involved a super soldier serum being injected into the victims bloodstream granting them super strength and durability (which nobody had survived). They didn't know Bane though, Bane powered through the agonising procedure and became the only one who survived therefore granting him extreme power.
With this new power Bane broke out of the prison and let all the prisoners escape, he was then forced to jump into sea the shark infested waters later assumed to be dead when cornered by armed guards. What they didn't know however was Banes adamance to survive, Bane fought off every single shark which approached him and swam to the nearest city, Gotham City.
Bane didn't know about any other lifestyle other than the crime which he grew up with in the prison, he saw Gotham as just another prison to conquer. He began to use his powers to bring super villains to their knees and heroes to tremble in his wake, Bane rose to power in the city but was stopped by The Batman. Because of Banes mentality he was sentenced to Arkham Asylum, however he fascinated Dr. Jonathan Crane who began to teach Bane about the Venom serum he uses (this knowledge allows Bane to make his own Venom). He was then broken out when Dr. Jonathan Crane took on the 'Scarecrow' persona and became 'Nightmare', who wanted Bane as a body guard. Bane denied this position stating "I'm no henchman!" and took off.
Bane is now determined more than ever to take over Gotham and break the only man standing in his way, The Batman.
I injected Agave nectar into a flower to give this honeybee a reason to let me get close.

Well, we did make it to the temple and
we did get most of the dogs injected.
So pull up a chair and/or sit on the floor
while I tell you something I know a
little bit about. The Temple Dogs.
On the trip out to the temple you could see
big angry dark clouds coming out of the gulf.
To refresh your memory The Gulf of Thailand
is only a stones throw from the temple. As the
crow flies it's only 4 or 5 miles from our place !
Off and on down pours with thunder and lightning
accompanied us all the way to the temple, while
at the temple and all the way home from temple.
Now we are used to this but the dogs don't like it !
Pulled into the spot where we always meet up with
Molly and Blondie and they we nowhere to be found.
Whistled and called out for them but they are MIA.
Filled their new water buckets with fresh water
then slowly wandered on over to the nuns.
Waiting in the road in front of the nuns place
is a large group of professional hooligans ;-)
The nuns didn't know we were coming so
they were pleasantly surprised to see us.
Mr Rocky crabbed onto me and wouldn't
let go, even for a second. The nuns are
laughing as Rocky shows everybody
where his loyalties are. His jailbait
girlfriend, Ms Yo-Yo is bouncing
around like a ball of silly putty.
Now don't panic as we will be back at the temple
this Sunday to help the nuns celebrate MKM's life.
At that time Molly/Blondie will receive their injections.
It's noon thirty right now and both of us
are really burned out, so it's nap time.
Thank You.
