This is the last stereo slide in this series of photographs I made at the 2018 Goodguys Hotrod and Custom Car show in Des Moines, Iowa on June 29, 2018. The car in the picture is a Fad-T. While I find the sign taped to the car distracting, the car itself has interest, partially because of the cycle fenders, which are not usual unless mandated by state or local law. The injector stacks with air filters are great, and the rear tires really make the car stand out.
Converting an Album to a Slide Show on the Apple iPhone
1.Open the Goodguys 2018 Album. Hold the phone in the upright position, with the close button at the bottom.
2.Select the first picture in the album.
3.Tap the “Air Play” icon in the lower left corner.
4.Select the Slide Show “play arrow.“ The first time you do this, you will want to double tap the icon to set parameters for the slide show—i.e. music or not, etc. The type of slide show is “push” for best viewing as stereo pairs.
5.Rotate the phone to horizontal position and drop into Google Cardboard.
Above are directions for converting my album of stereo pairs into a slide show.
For some people, bringing the images into focus using Google Cardboard will be an issue. In those cases, I recommend using a regular VR headset. They are not expensive, and the ones I’ve seen and used have adjustable focus.

The Autovac fuel injector pump was a characteristic feature of the single-deck and double-deck buses Southern Vectis (and many other Tilling Group bus operators) had in their fleet from the 1930s through to the late 1940s. By the 1950s a quicker way to transmit the diesel fuel from the tank through to the engine without the need for a separate injector pump was devised on the various lorries and buses of the period and these fuel injector pumps were eventually phased out, although the Autovac fuel injector pump affixed to the nearside of Southern Vectis 702 still does its important job with pride to this day.
The pipes carry steam and produced fluids. SAG-D involves pairs of wells - dedicated injectors and producers. The completed intervals are horizontal with the injector on top (unlike conventional waterflood configurations). The steam heats up the bitumen, thereby lowering viscosity and allowing it to trickle down to the producer. Some form of artificial lift is typically required to produce the wells. SAG-D (Steam-Assisted Gravity Drainage) was invented in Canada by Imperial Oil engineer Roger Butler, who went on to teach at the University of Calgary. SAG-D is proposed as the key to unlock the vast potential of the vast majority of bitumen resources that cannot by developed by mining. However, SAG-D may not work as effectively in areas with low vertical permeability due to shale/mudstone laminae.

This figure shows a stability analysis of the flow from a gas turbine fuel injector. The top half shows the regions of the flow that are most unstable (hot colours). The bottom half shows the regions of the instability that are most self-sustained. In this case, the instability is strongly self-sustained at a particular frequency, which is also calculated with InstaFlow.
Injector with integrated fuel reservoir
The use of injectors with an integrated fuel reservoir prevents pressure fluctuations in the common rail system and, therefore, a momentary undersupply or oversupply of fuel to the injectors.

Repairing Damaged Muscle: A) A collagen matrix containing sialyl Lewisx is injected at the site of damaged muscle tissue, where it gels to form a smart scaffold. B) The presence of sialyl Lewisx attracts progenitor cells to the site and binds with their L-selectin receptors. The progenitor cells take up residence in the scaffold, where they begin to differentiate and form new blood vessels. C) The new vessels provide oxygenated blood to growing muscle tissue, repairing the damage caused by ischemia. (Published in The Beat v4i1)
