The number of buses registered + licenced in Hong Kong seems to fluctuate between 18,000 - 22,000 vehicles and presumably new buses registered are offset by old buses being retired or sold over the border in China. (Source - The Transport Department, Hong Kong Government)
Bus services in Hong Kong have to be amongst the best of all major cities in the World.

"In 1811, the landlord of the “Little Cot” wanted possession. The following year, forced by the end of his tenancy, and not helped by the onset of illness, Bewick reluctantly moved his family south across the Tyne to Mirk or Back(?) Lane, Gateshead, later known as West Street.
The final significant wood engraving of Bewick's life was Waiting for Death, not published until 1832; it shows an old horse reduced to skin and bone, standing bleakly and unsheltered in a rocky field; the prosperity of a country house is clearly seen in the distance.
In November 1828, Bewick died at his home in Gateshead, with his place secure in the history of British art and his name destined to be prominent in every history of his craft. He was buried at the church of St Mary in Ovingham." Newcastle City Guides
Boxgrove Priory, in the village of Boxgrove in Sussex, was founded in about 1066 by Robert de Haye, who in 1105 bestowed the church of St. Mary of Boxgrove upon the Benedictine Abbey of Lessay. In about 1126 upon the marriage of Robert's daughter Cecily, to Roger St. John the number of monks living at Boxgrove was increased from the original three to six, and by 1187 there were a total of fifteen. The nineteenth monk was added to the priory in about 1230 by William de Kainesham, Canon of Chichester. By 1535 the priory's possessions were worth £185 19s. 8d. gross, and £145 10s. 2½d. clear.
The Priory church is still in use as the Church of St Mary and St Blaise. The Battle of Britain Pilot, Billy Fiske is buried in the churchyard.

For conference goers and tourists alike, Yogykarta or Jogja as it is known locally, misses out on the finesse of Bali or the hustle and bustle of Jakarta, but for a more genuine central Indonesian experience with volcanoes and temples a plenty it’s well worth spending a few days exploring. 27/09/2012, Cangkringan, Indonesia.

The Staatsoper Unter den Linden (State Opera), also known as the Berlin State Opera (Staatsoper Berlin in German), is a listed building on Unter den Linden Boulevard in the historic center of Berlin. The opera house was built by order of Prussian king Frederick the Great from 1741 to 1743 according to plans by Georg Wenzeslaus von Knobelsdorff in the Palladian style. Damaged during the Allied bombing in World War II, the former Royal Prussian Opera House was rebuilt from 1951 to 1955 as part of the Forum Fridericianum square. Nicknamed Lindenoper in Berlin, it is believed to be "the world´s oldest state opera" and one of "the first theaters anywhere to be, by itself, a prominent, freestanding monumental building in a city."

Bloomberg volunteers build raised beds and planted summer flowers within them, this event was organised by our charity partner Trees for Cities.
