Canyonlands National Park in southeastern Utah is known for its dramatic desert landscape carved by the Colorado River. Island in the Sky is a huge, flat-topped mesa with panoramic overlooks. Other notable areas include the towering rock pinnacles known as the Needles, the remote canyons of the Maze and the Native American rock paintings in Horseshoe Canyon. Whitewater rapids flow through Cataract Canyon.

ENTREVISTADOR: Pedro Roig, historiador y abogado, es investigador académico del Instituto de Estudios Cubanos y Cubano-Americanos (ICCAS) de la Universidad de Miami. Tiene una maestría de la Universidad de Miami y un doctorado en derecho de la Universidad St. Thomas. Roig fue director general de la Oficina de Transmisión para Cuba (OCB) Radio y Televisión Martí (2003-2010). También es autor de numerosos libros que incluyen Martí: la lucha de los cubanos por la libertad y Death of a Dream: A History of Cuba. Roig es veterano de la Brigada 2506.
Carlos Alberto Montaner nació en La Habana y ha vivido cuarenta años en Madrid. Ha sido profesor universitario en diversas instituciones de América Latina y Estados Unidos. Es escritor, periodista y analista de CNN en español. Varias decenas de diarios de América Latina, España y Estados Unidos recogen desde hace más de treinta años su columna semanal. La revista Poder lo ha calificado como uno de los columnistas más influyentes en la lengua española. Montaner ha publicado una veintena de libros, varios traducidos al inglés, portugués, ruso e italiano. Entre los más conocidos y reeditados están Viaje al corazón de Cuba; Cómo y por qué desapareció el comunismo; Libertad: la clave de la prosperidad, y las novelas Perromundo; 1898: La Trama; Tiempos de Canallas, La Mujer del Coronel y Otra vez adiós. Dos de sus más polémicos y divulgados ensayos son Manual del perfecto idiota latinoamericano y Fabricantes de miseria, ambos escritos con la colaboración de Plinio Apuleyo Mendoza y Álvaro Vargas Llosa. En el 2012, la revista Foreign Policy lo incluyó entre los 50 intelectuales más influyentes de Iberoamérica.

A friend thinks this might be an osprey. I'm glad I took my camera to the office. I shot this through a sometimes cleaned window. Focusing was a challenge as I still had my manual focus Nikkor 70-200mm lens on the camera.
