This was taken at a Charity Horse ride on the Rotherfield Estate. The event was in memory of and to raise money for Steve Smith's designated charities. Steve sadly lost his battle to cancer this year. He was a much loved part of the community who is greatly missed by all!
Only in Edinburgh! One minute you are admiring the architecture on the historic Royal Mile near the castle when a group of youngsters dresed as romans singing modern songs come past much to the amusement of the many japanese tourists.
They are members of Cambridge Fools who were advertising their comedy musical entitled When in Rome where you are immersed in a world torn between Ancient Roman culture and modern 90's pop.
This is the third time I've worked with this photograph; here is version two. Zimbragos, what do you think of this one? I left the crop much closer to the original, to save the whole dragon on the left, and I adjusted the blue curve in isolation to give the whole image a faded green tint that I like very much -- but that might just be me.
Personally, I like them all for different reasons, but I don't think any of them is perfect. You can only ever keep trying, right? :-)
This is the little cub who refused to come in for the evening. Mom came out to get him, but the little stinker stopped here, hidden from Mom by the rock, and waited for her to come back a second time.

Where to Stay, Play, and Eat in Small Indiana Towns!
Indiana Dunes National Park is located in northwestern Indiana that was authorized by Congress in 1966 as the Indiana Dunes National Lakeshore (the name by which it was known until it was designated the nation's 61st national park on February 15, 2019). The park runs for nearly 25 miles along the southern shore of Lake Michigan; it contains approximately 15,000 acres. Its visitors center is in the town of Porter. Located in the park are sand dune, wetland, prairie, river, and forest ecosystems.
Indiana Dunes National Park has acquired about 95% of the property within the authorized boundaries. Several of its holdings are non-contiguous and do not include the 2,182-acre Indiana Dunes State Park, which is within the boundaries of the national park but is owned, managed, and protected by the state of Indiana. The national park is divided into 15 parcels of various acreage. Along the lakefront, the eastern area is roughly the lake shore south to U.S. 12 or U.S. 20, between Michigan City (on the east) and the ArcelorMittal steel plant (on the west). A small extension, south of the steel mill continues west along Salt Creek to Indiana 249. In addition, there are several outlying areas, including; Pinhook Bog, in LaPorte County to the east. The Heron Rookery in Porter County, the center of the park, and the Calumet Prairie State Nature Preserve and the Hobart Prairie Grove, both in Lake County, the western end of the park. Also within the National Park is the Hoosier Prairie State Nature Preserve, managed by the Indiana Department of Natural Resources.

If I had to sum up Stephen Hawkings The Universe In A Nutshell in one word, it would be brilliant. In this masterpiece Hawking somehow takes the most, in my opinion, complicated and confusing science topics and breaks them down into a reader-friendly showcase of knowledge and love of science. Upon first opening the book and skimming the topics and detailed illustrations I almost didnt even bother to start the adventure into Hawkings world, however upon reading the first few pages I quickly learned that such topics could be understood by even the most severely scientifically challenged. Granted comprehension of such daunting topics does not come instantaneously, but if slowly taken in you can easily come to understand the science of every bit of matter around you and begin to see the world through Hawkings eyes.Normally I am the last one to pick up a non-fiction book such as this one for a pleasure reading book, but on my friends persistence I bought it. After reading the first couple of pages I could not stop reading. I would read a couple of pages, give myself time to wrap my mind around what I had just read, and then immediately dive back into the book. Hawking immediately pulls you in with his obvious delight in the universe and the science around us. He somehow makes the book fun to read. The fact that Hawking makes such advanced science subjects and ideas comprehendible without watering down the material makes you want to learn more about the world around you and the possibilities of the future. Without a doubt, this book would not be as digestible as it is without the magnificent illustrations. Detailed pictures and diagrams help the reader to visualize the topics which Hawking explains with excellent clarity. The diagrams alone are enough to explain the ideas and theories Hawking conveys in this amazing book. I myself am a very visual learner so the illustrations were very helpful to my understanding of the topics. In conclusion, Hawking takes seemingly impossible subjects such as quantum mechanics, time travel, and the actual shape of time and is somehow able to explain it in a fashion that can be understood by almost any reader. Hawking introduces ideas and theories completely alien to the average person in his book, so digest the book slowly. With a little effort, anyone can comprehend the world they live in through the eyes of the brilliant Stephen Hawking. For More 5 Star Reviews The Universe in a Nutshell by Stephen William Hawking

In California. I went on a ride with my Stepdad (Art Wayman) and my father-in-law (Peter Boda). We rode from my old stomping grounds in Cypress, then down the riverbed about 7 miles to Seal Beach. A gorgeous day.

[19:37] Alric Bravin knows he looks like a freakin' moron in this wig. He sighs, and checks his gun one more time. The rubber bullets were loaded. The gun felt strange in his hand as he turned it over, a frown forming as he recalled his beloved USP being confiscated by that stupid asshole Marine.
[19:40] Frenchy sees Alric check his gun and does so in kind. He mumbles. He's never used anything rubber before this, as demonstrated by the dozens of children left to his previous trysts.
[19:40] Lazarus Lowenstark sniffs the air over shorty. Was that oranges? Definitely some kind of citrus.
[19:41] Shorty was one of those 'trysts.' She used a dam though, and therefor avoided his fertile seed. She fluffs her hair back a bit as she waits. She thinks about the new body wash she will get at the store next week, she may go with mango next time.
