I like spiderwebs. The little spiders are really great artists in building their complex models. Always such a beauty, which can be easily found, sometimes even indoors. I took this photo in the late afternoon, using the sunlight to give her beautiful glow.

It's a lovely example of Art in Nature ;-))

It's not the most majestic waterfall, but it's the best there is in the area. Spring rains caused the water volume to increase dramatically.

Die Farben habe ich hier nicht reduziert oder in Sepia umgewandelt - das ist so farblos :-/

A more complete view of yesterday's iris gracing their lake shore setting. Typically, only a few plants appear in any single location without any major concentrations, that in itself providing a more unique and appealing accent.

Henne Fountain in Aschersleben, constructed in 1906.

The "Plana de l'Olm" is a pretty little square in the heart of the old town of the catalan city of Manresa.

Under the elm that presides over the square, you can admire the sculpture “A l’ombra” (In the shadow), by the artist Ramón Oms. The sculpture represents a woman sitting on a bench in the shade of a tree, with a book in her hand.

Named from the similarity of their prominent proboscis that looks like the beak of a snipe. Adults can often be seen sitting on vegetation or on tree trunks waiting to catch and pounce on passing prey. Some species of snipe flies are hematophagous as adults and some are predatory of insects. Larvae develop as predators in the soil and wood detritus. Found in wet meadows, marshes and woodland margins. Can sometimes be know as the Down-Looker Fly as they have the habit of perching head-downward on tree trunks.

I saw this in the 50+ Faves group and Faved it.

Sometimes dreams do come true. I am so grateful to have been able to view the castle of my dreams, Eilean Donan in Scotland. What an iconic castle it is, a fable from days of yore. So now in these days of "good will and peace to all men", my thoughts turn to our troubled world. I am still dreaming that peace will come to us all.

You may say I'm a dreamer, but I'm not the only one. I hope someday you'll join us. And the world will live as one.

Happy Sleiders Sunday

Post to MAX😃

I went out this afternoon to go and ring a brood of Nuthatches in a gorgeous oak woodland near Falkirk. We had to go through the horses to get to the wood and I thought they just looked gorgeous in the buttercups

Last week included a butterfly hunting day for me so that meant traveling to different areas where they might be.

I saw only Red Admirals...and got a lot of great shots...This was my 'hands down' favorite because of the colors and detail.

The outer band of orange in all shots (different Admirals) were a subdued orange on the outside of wing, that surprised me....

Hope you're enjoying the week flickr friends....thank you for stopping by...Pat...xo

Oh yes.....the Prairies Photography class from last weekend....wow, I'd say....learning about prairie eco systems, time for greatest color, golden grasses....prairie systems within a half hour drive of where I live....

Learning more about using the camera, having to get down on my knees...groan....for those 'certain shots'...I'm not wild about using a tripod I must say...

Class was 10-1 pm....when we got out in the field, the sun was high....so not great shots; but I'll cull and see what I feel happy enough to show you.

John Pennoyer, great teacher and photographer himself....I will take more classes through Arboretum with him and others.

Seen in Vega, Texas, along Rt 66....

In 2013, after heavy rain, the River Darent burst it’s banks & flooded the ford.

This was not the beginning of the sunrise sequence but it just before the mist and the fog began to burn away! This was in the sequence that I posted some time ago called Lake Eerie! This was my favorite moment of the entire morning! Hope everyone has a wonderful week ahead! Taken on Armand bayou in the vicinity of Bay Area Park!
